YOUR ROLE

This internship spans two complementary fields – technical content development and DevOps support. As an Education Services intern, you will work closely with a team of content developers, instructors, and technical writers to produce high-quality developer training content for Wind River customers. You will also collaborate with a DevOps engineer to support the tooling and infrastructure needs of the team.  

Reporting to the director of Education Services, this internship program is designed to provide experience that prepares you for a career in technical information development and/or DevOps engineering.  

In your daily job you will:

  • Help develop automated tests to validate product functionality
  • Triage and debug test and product failures
  • Contribute to improving features and processes
  • Work closely with the design team to ensure proper test coverage for features
  • Participate in team meetings, bug scrubs and code reviews

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE 

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are

Technical information development: 

  • Test new and updated technical training courses and hands-on labs to ensure accuracy, clarity, and usability. 

  • Provide feedback to content developers and instructors to help improve course quality and learner experience. 

DevOps sample projects: 

  • Develop an application to generate “tailored training” course descriptions. 

  • Automate the update of license files for lab instances.  

  • Help manage the training servers by automating the provisioning of lab instances. 

Qualifications/ Requirements 

  • Currently enrolled in a computer science or related degree program at an accredited college or university. 

  • Ability to commute and work from the Wind River Ottawa office  

  • Proficient in Python and JavaScript 

  • Familiarity with edge computing or embedded systems technologies is a plus.
