QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB:
- Immediate, open position
- $78,000 - $100,000 annual compensation
- Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Technology, Sustainable Management, or a related discipline required.
- 2-5 years of environmental and sustainability experience in automative manufacturing required.
- Familiar with ISO 14001 and environmental auditing practices.
- Knowledge of Ontario environmental legislation.
- Experience with paint systems, wastewater, air permits, or chemical management.
- ISO 14001 Internal Auditor and Joint Health and Safety Committee certification an asset.
- Experience with environmental reporting systems.
- Proficient with utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and database applications
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
MAIN DUTIES:
- Maintain compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulations.
- Coordinate environmental permits, inspections, monitoring activities, and regulatory reporting.
- Support compliance related to air emissions, waste management, stormwater, spill prevention, and chemical storage.
- Coordinate environmental incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Maintain and improve the site’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
- Conduct Environmental audits and inspections.
- Coordinate annual environmental aspects and impacts reviews.
- Support management reviews, objectives tracking, and continuous improvement projects.
- Manager hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs. Coordinate waste shipments and vendor requirements.
- Support chemical approval, inventory management, and SDS administration
- Identify waste reduction and recycling opportunities
- Deliver environment awareness training
- Coordinate completion of environmental training requirements.
- Support emergency spill response training and drills.
- Other duties as assigned
