Are you a data enthusiast fascinated by financial markets and dedicated to client relationships? TMX Group is looking for a highly driven and curious individual to join our Equity Client Relationship Management (CRM) team. In this dynamic role, you will analyze our extensive and unique datasets to identify trends, understand market behavior, and generate insights that support the CRM Team. You will also assist the CRM team in client meetings, educating trading clients on the value proposition of TMX Equities and fostering relationships with key clients in the Toronto area. This opportunity offers a potential path to an Account Manager position.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze extensive, intricate datasets pertaining to trading activity, order flow, and market data utilizing Python and SQL.

  • Conduct ad-hoc research projects to support the CRM team.

  • Generate lucid and compelling data visualizations, reports, and presentations to disseminate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Assist in the development of business development strategies.

  • Support the execution of sales and relationship management programs and business plan activities.

  • Assist in the development and delivery of external, data-driven sales presentations and targeted communications to support business development initiatives.

  • Support TMX participation in sponsored and hosted events as required.

  • Assist in managing internal relationships and coordinating activities with business development personnel across other lines of business.

  • Continuously pursue knowledge and remain abreast of market trends, academic research, and novel analytical techniques.

  • Maintain accurate and current client records within the CRM system.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a cognate discipline.

  • Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, particularly with libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib/Seaborn.

  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), with the capacity to distill complex quantitative concepts into clear, actionable insights.

  • A demonstrable knowledge of equity market structure, encompassing concepts such as order types, liquidity, algorithmic trading, and market fragmentation.
