Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Finance Director to manage and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) analysis, tax preparation, international tax compliance, QuickBooks Online (QBO) management, cash flow, and financial forecasting. This is a fully remote role, offering flexibility to work from anywhere within Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee all fiscal operations, ensuring compliance with Canadian and international financial regulations.
Supervise accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):
Conduct financial analysis and due diligence for potential M&A opportunities.
Work closely with leadership to assess the financial and strategic fit of potential acquisitions.
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and file corporate income and sales tax returns for both Canadian and U.S. operations.
Stay current with international tax laws to ensure compliance with all relevant tax policies.
Financial Systems Management:
Oversee QuickBooks Online (QBO) management for accurate financial reporting and bookkeeping.
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial data within the system.
Cash Flow and Forecasting:
Manage cash flow to maintain the financial stability of the organization.
Develop and maintain profit and loss (P&L) statements and cash flow forecasts to inform decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in Quebec.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior financial management role.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and other financial management software.
Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. tax laws, along with international tax regulations.
Experience with financial analysis for mergers and acquisitions.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, with strong self-motivation and discipline.
Bilingual fluency in French and English is required.
