The Role

Versaterm is currently seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst, OPEX to support our Research & Development team. You will work alongside the CTO, CFO and the Director, FP&A to help drive our OPEX strategies and performance. This role is strategic, impactful and critical. You will report directly to the Director, FP&A while partnering closely with the CTO.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide analytics support for our R&D teams
  • Develop project tracking strategies for innovation and maintenance development objectives
  • Build and maintain financial models based on operational KPI’s for different functions and cost components
  • Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders within our R&D teams to aid in decision-making and resource allocation
  • Assist in process and system implementations
  • Support the FP&A team through Board Deck content and business analyses
  • Support the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts aligned with the company's strategic objectives
  • Regularly monitor actual performance against forecasts and budgets, providing variance analysis and actionable recommendations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration - Finance or related fields.  Strong academic record with relevant certifications such as CPA, CFA or MBA
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis and planning, preferably with direct experience to or analysis of product costs and customers operations for high-growth tech-enabled services or SAAS industries
  • Highly skilled and proficient with Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and prioritize tasks as needed.
  • Strong time-management skills and an ability to multi-task
  • You're proactive, curious, and not afraid to ask questions.
  • Ability to think outside the box for ways to improve current processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. Adaptable to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • You’re a keen listener who can effectively collect key information from stakeholders 

Nice to Haves

  • You are a strong communicator and you’re able to summarize data into visual dashboards using charts, graphs, trend analysis then presenting finding to stakeholders in a digestable way.
  • Prior Knowledge of Project & Effort Tracking Systems, Ticketing Systems, Vena, SalesForce, Intacct, or other accounting systems
  • Strong technical skills, particularly with Excel, Visual basic, SQL, PowerBi or Tableau
