OptumRx is looking for a Financial Consultant to join our Optum Specialty & Home Delivery Finance Team. This individual will support and manage pricing and financial impacts of current and future contracts. Financial support of these contracts entails reviewing pricing within contracts, looking for financial opportunity, and reporting on performance. This role is critical to every aspect of our business and will require advanced financial modeling skills, attention to detail and the willingness to push forward in an ambiguous environment. This will be a highly visible role, with the opportunity to present your financial findings to various levels of leadership and serve as an integral part in supporting pharmacy leadership to drive financial performance and growth of Optum Specialty & Home Delivery Pharmacies.
This position is full-time, Monday Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm local time.
We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be based on schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Create financial models that identify financial opportunities and help inform strategy
  • Pull data to maintain and create financial reports and models on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Monitor newly launched specialty pharmacy products and develop pricing proposals based on various economic/market variable
  • Support contract negotiation team in the negotiation process by providing ad hoc analytics and reviewing counter offers
  • Frequent interaction with senior leaders from multiple parts of the business, requiring professional demeanor and ability to articulate concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • Comfortable working in an environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 2+ years of experience in Finance/ Pricing/Underwriting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, large data sets, formulas)
  • Ability to analyze data, summarize it, and provide conclusions
  • Experience preparing and delivering financial results or modeling to management/leadership
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm local time.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Healthcare experience
  • Experience pulling data to create/maintain financial reporting
  • Experience working in a matrix environment, building relationships, and partnering with business leaders

Telecommuting Requirements:
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
