The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front-End Technical Lead to guide our front-end engineering team in building scalable, high-performance, and user-centric web & mobile applications.
Reporting into the Director, Software Engineering, the Front-End Technical Lead is responsible for contributing to the team’s work planning, front-end solution design, along with setting the technical direction to ensure that deliverables are in line with best practices, embedding Aviso’s standards of code quality, security, reusability, scalability and configurability. The role is high touch position with a notable amount of collaboration across product teams and stakeholders to define front-end technical and usability requirements and understand how they fit into the end objective while participating in the user experience design of responsive application systems.

What your day looks like:
- Establish and communicate the technical direction for Front-end software initiatives, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, engineering principles, and business objectives.
- Provide leadership with Front-End best practices to teammates through coaching and mentorship
- Participate in the software design, development, and end-to-end implementation using Adobe Experience Manager
- Lead and mentor engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle, providing guidance on design, implementation, testing, and delivery of software solutions.
- Facilitate design reviews and technical planning sessions, ensuring proposed solutions meet performance, scalability, and maintainability goals.
- Identify and resolve complex technical challenges, proactively managing risks and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Coordinate with internal partners, including product leaders, designers, and business partners, to clarify requirements, align priorities, and provide timely updates.
Requirements
Your experience and skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of professional experience in software development with 5+ years of experience with front end platforms
- 2+ years’ of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) development experience
- 3+ years of React experience
- 2+ years of Integration experience with backend using API’s in Java-based frameworks
- Solid database skills in both SQL and NoSQL
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C#, or Python, and a foundational understanding of software engineering principles would be an asset
- Expertise in system architecture, microservices, and cloud-native design
- Experience using Azure Cloud, APIM, Dapr, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (Iac/Bicep)
- Advanced knowledge of design patterns and software engineering principles
- Proficient in Git, GitHub/GitLab workflows, and code quality tools
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C#, or Python, and a foundational understanding of software engineering principles would be an asset
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven track record in mentoring and leading engineering teams
- Experience with Angular and/or Flutter would be an asset
- Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary
This position is posted with an expected salary range of $115,000 - $135,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
