Achievable, a fully remote edtech startup based in San Francisco, needs help with marketing! If you're looking to learn marketing skills quickly in a fast-paced startup environment, work flexible hours, build out your resume, and be responsible for far more than your typical internship, this role could be a great fit.

About the role

We need someone who can learn quickly and wants to take on more responsibility as they learn. We have a number of different areas where we need additional support. Each of these avenues is directly correlated with a real career that you will build valuable work experience for:

  • Marketing writer: We need informative, well-produced blog posts, including guest posts on other sites. You will research and write these posts, and have your name on them permanently for future reference.
  • Social media marketing: We need thoughtful, engaging image or video content for our social media channels, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and TikTok
  • Market research: We need to evaluate other potential high stakes exams that we could build courses for to see which markets are worth entering and what the competition looks like in those markets

This is an opportunity to completely own your own marketing projects for a real, venture-backed company with tens of thousands of paying customers per year. You'll report directly to our marketing lead, Cassandra.

We are open to part-time and full-time internships, and are happy to work with college students or people with other jobs, so long as you stay on top of your work.

About us

Achievable is a small EdTech startup. Our focus today is on test preparation for high-stakes exams, like the GRE for graduate school admissions, the FINRA Series licenses for careers in wealth management, and the USMLE exam for medical doctors. We provide FINRA SIE exam prep, a GRE prep course, a USMLE Step 1 prep course, and ACT prep, among many others. Our long-term mission is to help people unlock opportunity in their lives more broadly, guiding them through their lifelong journey of education, employment, and career advancement.

We're a small team of fifteen with tons to do and big improvements to be made. We're an entirely remote company. We're comfortable working with people internationally. As long as we communicate well, keep a high quality level, and achieve our deadlines, you can do the work anywhere and anytime you'd like. We'll work closely together, collaborating through Slack, code reviews, and Google Meet meetings depending on timezone and availability.

What you need to know about the Ottawa Tech Scene

The capital city of Canada and the nation's fourth-largest urban area, Ottawa has proven a rapidly growing global tech hub. With over 1,800 tech companies, many of which are leaders in their sectors, the city's tech talent now makes up more than 13 percent of its total workforce. This growth is driven not only by the big players like UL Solutions and Dropbox, but also by a thriving startup ecosystem, as new businesses emerge to follow in the footsteps of those that came before them.
