Agissant à titre de partenaire de livraison et de conseiller de confiance auprès des responsables d’affaires et des responsables fonctionnels, le titulaire du poste met à profit des compétences avancées en gestion de projet, en facilitation et en leadership du changement afin de livrer des résultats d’une manière pragmatique, rigoureuse et axée sur la valeur.

Exerçant ses fonctions avec un haut degré d’autonomie, le gestionnaire de projets principal fournit un leadership et un encadrement informels aux professionnels de la gestion de projets et contribue à l’amélioration continue des normes, des pratiques et de la supervision du portefeuille du PMO.

Principales responsabilités

  • Gérer des initiatives complexes de bout en bout, incluant l’élaboration des chartes, des plans, des échéanciers, des budgets, l’allocation des ressources et les feuilles de route de livraison.
  • Assurer la gestion de la portée, de l’échéancier, des coûts, de la qualité, des risques, des enjeux et des dépendances afin d’atteindre les objectifs et les résultats approuvés.
  • Établir et maintenir des relations de travail efficaces avec les équipes interfonctionnelles, les responsables d’affaires, la direction et les autres parties prenantes.
  • Produire des rapports clairs, opportuns et adaptés à un public de direction portant sur l’état d’avancement, les risques, les décisions requises et les résultats.
  • Assurer une facilitation avancée avec une supervision limitée et exercer un jugement autonome pour arbitrer les priorités et le compromis liés à la livraison.

Responsabilités avancées/stratégiques

  • Élaborer des livrables d’affaires, des artefacts de gouvernance, des outils de suivi et des approches de validation adaptés aux besoins des parties prenantes.
  • Développer et maintenir des feuilles de route intégrée, des échéanciers et des vues des dépendances, incluant l’identification des risques et des stratégies d’atténuation.
  • Collaborer étroitement avec les responsables d’affaires et les responsables fonctionnels afin de soutenir l’exécution, l’adoption et la réalisation des bénéfices.
  • Préparer et adapter les communications et les présentations et les documents pour des publics variés, allant des équipes de livraison à la haute direction.
  • Appliquer les principes de gestion du changement organisationnel afin d’évaluer la préparation au changement et de soutenir son adoption.
  • Contribuer à la planification, à la priorisation, au séquencement et à l’équilibrage de la capacité à l’échelle du portefeuille.
  • Veiller au respect des cadres de gouvernance du PMO et escalader les risques ou conflits, accompagnés d’analyse d’impact et de recommandations.
  • Offrir un leadership informel, du mentorat et du partage de connaissances, et favoriser une culture de collaboration et de responsabilisation.

Formation& Expérience

  • Baccalauréat ou expérience professionnelle équivalente dans un domaine connexe.
  • Plus de cinq (5) ans d’expérience en gestion de projets ou de programmes, incluant la livraison d’initiatives complexes et interfonctionnels.

Certifications (atouts)

  • Professionnel (le) en gestion de projet (PMP) ou l’équivalent.
  • Lean, Six Sigma ou optimisation des processus.
  • Certification en gestion du changement (Prosci un atout).
  • Accréditation en assurance-vie ou en services financiers (FLMI, FFSI ou équivalent).
Compétences et aptitudes
  • Connaissance approfondie des méthodes, outils et pratiques de gestion de projets.
  • Solide compréhension des aspects finances des projets et des exigences de reddition de comptes.
  • Capacité à utiliser la technologie comme levier d’affaires et à relier les initiatives aux objectifs stratégiques.
  • Excellentes aptitudes en communication bilingue (français et anglais) et en influence auprès des parties prenantes.
  • Fortes capacités d’analyse, de résolution de problèmes et en facilitation.
  • Sens de l’organisation, adaptabilité et aptitude à gérer plusieurs priorités avec discernement.
  • Esprit d’équipe, approche collaborative et engagement envers l’amélioration continue.

The Senior Project Manager leads medium‑to‑large, complex, cross‑functional initiatives that support RGA Canada’s strategic, regulatory, and operational objectives. Acting as a trusted delivery partner and advisor to business and functional leaders, this role applies advanced project management, facilitation, and change leadership capabilities to deliver outcomes in a fit‑for‑purpose, disciplined, and value‑driven manner.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Project Manager provides informal leadership and coaching to project management professionals and contributes to continuous improvement of PMO standards, practices, and portfolio oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex initiatives end‑to‑end, including charters, plans, schedules, budgets, resourcing, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, risks, issues, and dependencies to achieve approved objectives and outcomes.
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with cross‑functional teams, business owners, senior leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Provide clear, timely, executive‑ready reporting on status, risks, decisions, and outcomes.
  • Perform advanced facilitation under limited supervision and apply independent judgment to resolve delivery trade‑offs and priorities.
Advanced / Strategic Responsibilities
  • Develop fit‑for‑purpose deliverables, governance artifacts, monitoring tools, and validation approaches.
  • Build and maintain integrated roadmaps, timelines, and dependency views, including risk and mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with business owners and functional leads to drive execution, adoption, and benefits realization.
  • Develop and tailor communications and materials for audiences from delivery teams to senior leadership.
  • Apply organizational change management principles to assess readiness and support change adoption.
  • Contribute to portfolio‑level planning, prioritization, sequencing, and capacity balancing.
  • Ensure adherence to PMO governance standards and escalate risks or conflicts with impact analysis and recommendations.
  • Provide informal leadership, coaching, and knowledge‑sharing; foster a collaborative, accountable delivery culture.

Education  &  Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience.
  • 5+ years of project or program management experience delivering complex, cross‑functional initiatives.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or process optimization.
  • Change Management (Prosci preferred).
  • Life insurance or financial services accreditation (FLMI, FFSI, or equivalent).
Skills & Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of project management methods, tools, and delivery practices.
  • Strong understanding of project financials and reporting.
  • Ability to leverage technology as a business enabler and connect initiatives to strategy.
  • Excellent bilingual (French/English) communication and stakeholder influence skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and facilitation capabilities.
  • Organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities with sound judgment.

Compensation Range:

$90,600.00 - $113,250.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
