The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Global Quality advises Divisions and Corporate office of Customer Requirements, and the level of Customer Satisfaction in meeting those requirements. Monitoring and providing feedback to divisions on quality performance, and taking action to assist in improving performance. Fulfill "Assignment" based senior management requests, and providing launch support to divisions as needed. Be voice of customer on new initiatives, and to provide action plans to conform to those initiatives. Represent Divisions in customer meetings on an executive level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitoring, providing feedback, and assisting Magna Exteriors divisions with action plans to improve quality performance. Perform product and/or process audits.
  • Audit and assess manufacturing processes, recommend solutions to Division and Corporate management
  • Participate and/or lead problem solving activities
  • Train and mentor division Quality Managers and Engineers in the PDP process
  • APQP and Launch support, assist in PPAP, auditing to ensure all requirements are fulfilled
  • TS 16949 support by liaising between Divisions and Registrar bodies
  • Audit divisions for compliance to standards, quality requirements and customer expectations
  • Train divisions on customer systems (e.g. Ford, GM, Chrysler and others)
  • Ensure Magna Exteriors divisions are fairly represented in quality or warranty issues as required
  • Manage Liaison activity to ensure all agreements are in place and provide feedback from actions
  • Develop suppliers, implement quality systems, TS 16949, and/or specific systems for divisional needs
  • Assist in resource plans to ensure seamless transitions
  • Support IMDS requirements, ensure divisions are meeting customer dates and work is being completed
  • Assist the IT department in problem resolution for user requests (OEM websites, etc.)
  • Liaison with the divisions to uphold the tenets of Magna's WCM principles
  • Develop training plans for quality personnel, as required, for quality system tools such as: control plans, FMEA's, PPAP, Problem Solving, etc.

Education/Special Knowledge/Skills -

  • Post-Secondary education or equivalent experience
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and written. The ability to win the customer's loyalty is essential
  • Negotiating and explanation skills are required
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills along with a strong sense of time management and problem solving abilities
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while under pressure of deadlines and provide a high degree of accuracy
  • Must be a team player, highly motivated, experienced in working with a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and integrity in all aspects of the job
  • Customer-focused, team player with ability to interact effectively with all employee levels in a positive, cooperative, and productive manner
  • Ability to exercise initiative, common sense and maintain effective internal and external working relationships
  • Must consistently demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and versatility
  • Strong degree of initiative and judgment
  • Ability to travel frequently within North America
  • Valid Driver's License


Experience-

  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of related experience


Physical Demands/Work Environment - Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, may require travel.
