How you will contribute
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive global ocean freight sourcing strategies to optimize costs, service levels, and operational efficiency.
- Category Management: Lead all aspects of ocean freight category management, including market analysis, demand forecasting, tender processes, contract negotiation, and performance management.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong strategic relationships with ocean freight carriers and service providers on a global scale.
- Global Stakeholder Management: Effectively collaborate with and influence internal stakeholders across various functions (e.g., Supply Chain, Planning, Operations, Finance) and geographies, managing diverse expectations and time zones.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize advanced Excel and data analysis techniques to monitor market trends, analyze performance metrics, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide insightful reports to senior leadership.
- Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identify process efficiencies, and implement best practices in ocean freight sourcing and operations.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks within the global ocean freight supply chain, including geopolitical impacts, capacity constraints, and regulatory changes.
- Hands-on Execution: Be prepared to dive deep into operational details, troubleshoot issues, and actively participate in the execution of sourcing strategies.
- Compliance: Ensure all sourcing activities adhere to company policies, ethical guidelines, and relevant international trade regulations.
What you will bring

- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience in ocean freight sourcing, procurement, or category management within a global supply chain environment.
- Global Acumen: Proven ability to manage global logistics operations, navigating different time zones and successfully collaborating with stakeholders distributed worldwide.
- Analytical Skills: Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting. Strong analytical capabilities to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Sourcing Expertise: Demonstrated experience in leading end-to-end strategic sourcing processes, including RFI/RFP, negotiation, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, results-oriented approach.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field. Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CSCMP, APICS) is a plus.
- Systems: Familiarity with CSO and e-sourcing platforms is highly desirable.
