About Melita Group
Melita Group is an HR outsourcing firm based in San Jose, California. It is part of Allvia, a platform of HR services companies. We provide integrated HR, payroll, benefits administration, leave of absence administration and HR compliance services to small and mid-market employers. As our clients grow internationally, we're adding contract payroll specialists who can run in-country payroll for their employees in Canada and the United Kingdom.

About the role
We're hiring for two specialties and may engage two separate consultants. You don't need experience in both countries. Please apply for the one that fits you, or both if you have done both:

You'll work with Melita's Global Payroll Services Manager to process payrolls for multiple clients in each country.

What you'll do

    • Review payroll registers, reconcile results, and fix variances before funds are released
    • Make sure statutory deductions, filings and remittances are accurate and on time
    • Handle new hires, terminations, final pay, and changes to pay and deductions
    • Support quarter-end and year-end processing
    • Answer client and employee payroll questions clearly and quickly
    • Point out compliance risks and any upcoming legislative changes that affect our clients
    •

Required experience & engagement details

    Canada track: required experience

    • At least 3 years processing Canadian payroll, with recent hands-on work in ADP Workforce Now Canada platform
    • Solid knowledge of CPP/QPP, EI, federal and provincial income tax, and employer health taxes
    • Year-end experience with T4 and T4A forms, plus Records of Employment (ROE)
    • Quebec payroll experience, including RL-1 and QPIP, is strongly preferred
    • PCP or CPM designation from the National Payroll Institute is preferred

          • Independent contractor, fully remote
