We are seeking an experienced Global Planning Specialist - Kinaxis Maestro (AKA Rapid Response). This individual will serve as the go-to authority for optimizing supply chain planning processes, translating business requirements into functional solutions, and enabling advanced use of Kinaxis capabilities across the organization. This role is responsible for driving best practices, supporting business units worldwide, and enabling continuous improvement across all planning domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Functional Expertise:
- Serve as the functional subject matter expert for Kinaxis modules (Demand, Supply, Inventory, Control Tower) across the enterprise.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, IT, and business stakeholders to shape the global Kinaxis roadmap and ensure consistency across regions.
- Standardize planning processes, templates, and configurations in alignment with CoE governance.
- Design and configure planning workbooks, measures, alerts, dashboards, and scenarios in Maestro to support business processes.
- Provide guidance on best practices for supply chain planning, leveraging deep knowledge of Maestro capabilities.
- Planning Process Support:
- Partner with planning teams to optimize demand planning, supply planning, inventory optimization, and exception management.
- Analyze supply chain data to identify performance gaps, opportunities, and root causes of planning issues.
- Ensure planning processes and system configurations are aligned with business objectives.
- Project & Change Enablement:
- Participate in project initiatives related to new functionality, integrations, and process enhancements.
- Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing), issue resolution, and production cutovers for system changes.
- Develop and maintain documentation for planning processes, system configurations, and functional specifications.
- Training & Adoption:
- Deliver training and mentoring to planners and super users on Kinaxis functionality, planning workflows, and system enhancements.
- Act as the first point of contact for escalations and advanced user support.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with other members of the Kinaxis CoE, Product Owners, and IT to influence the product roadmap, based on business needs.
- Drive initiatives to improve forecast accuracy, supply plan adherence, and inventory optimization.
- Stay up to date on Kinaxis product releases and new capabilities to recommend relevant enhancements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree a plus)
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on Kinaxis Maestro configuration and functional design.
- Strong understanding of ERP data flows (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and how they integrate with Kinaxis.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain planning (demand, supply, S&OP, or inventory management)
- Ability to design and configure measures, worksheets, dashboards, and what‑if scenarios within Maestro.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Excel, SQL, or BI tools (Power BI/Tableau a plus).
- Strong communication and facilitation skills with cross-functional teams.
- Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range:
The salary range for this role in Canada is $91, 600 - $146, 400
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
