As the Head of Finance SLS IPS / R&D the incumbent will report to the CFO of SLS and is accountable owner the budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes; as well as the monthly closing, reporting and controlling process for all IPS products.
In addition, the incumbent ensures financial integrity of all SLS R&D projects and activities (e.g.: forecast accuracy, capitalization, labor rates, process adherence) as well as controlling of all SLS IPS relevant R&D projects (in time, in budget, in cost); it is also crucial to connect R&D progress of IPS projects with product line plans (e.g. launch plan) and respectively evaluation of financial risk or opportunities for the business including timely and meaningful communication to the Head of IPS. The ownership of correct books and records for these functions includes the management of relationships with the Accounting and Assurance groups, to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and compliance with RIC controls. The incumbent is fully responsible for all SLS R&D related finance topics.
As the Head of Finance SLS IPS the incumbent will serve as the finance business partner for the Head of SLS IPS, collaborating closely with senior leaders on all critical strategic and tactical topics. In this role, incumbent also partners with global marketing organization on product portfolio management; prepare financial analyses to support strategic portfolio decisions including evaluation of partnerships, sales programs, other portfolio initiatives.
The incumbent will serve as the finance member in all processes, forums, decision making meetings and is accountable and responsible for portfolio and R&D project decisioning. The person will oversee complex capitalized development projects and will manage relationships with AC and CF-A to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and compliance with RIC controls.
The incumbent will also liaise with key partners in all zones to maintain a strong relationship and ensure close interaction between all product line topics and the situation in top 10 countries as well as all zones. This includes identification of initiatives to drive additional growth, measures to expand profitability or other areas where a close collaboration will strengthen the IPS position in the market.

Responsible for executing the IPS product development roadmap on time, on budget, with feature/function requirements
Responsible for executing IPS roadmaps priorities by creating an Annual Operating Plan and 5 Year Plan; topline, bottom line, R&D business cases
Act as financial partner for IPS portfolio initiative
Develop IPS product positioning incl. VCAI targets for the commercial organization to help protect and expand SLS profit targets; monitor actual performance vs target in collaboration with commercial deal desk team
Identify productivity to be able to do more with limited resources, for both IPS and R&D
Act as lead for fundamental elements of IPS 5 YR Plan including shipments, install base, test volumes and revenue. Provide IPS & Commercial MT with detailed scenario modeling and align with all stakeholders on market growth assumptions based on commercial feedback and external reporting. Partner closely with commercial organization to incorporate their zone-specific assumptions on price, market coverage, prospect rates and retention rates. Prepare analyses based on sales funnel data to challenge commercial organization’s growth plans where appropriate.
Ensure financial integrity for all SLS R&D topics; ensure that all R&D projects are planned and executed in line with financial standards, guidelines and controls (inc. capitalization)
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
Capable of challenging assumptions constructively and collaboratively
Candidate must be able to connect strategy to execution and also demonstrate experience in operational execution (e.g., trade-off decisions, KPI management)
Experience with advanced financial modelling is required with deep understanding of financial project management
Capable of articulating business plan assumptions to internal and external auditors
Ability to deliver high-quality results in a deadline-driven environment with competing priorities
Strong presentation skills and management presence
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
10+ years of demonstrated industry experience
In depth knowledge of R&D accounting requirements and standards
Capable of providing meaningful analysis, insights and suggested actions to business partner (IPS and R&D)

The base pay range for this position is
Min $231,400 - Max $347,100Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Siemens Healthineers offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay.
