The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our People and Culture team for 12 months.

Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, the HR Business Partner is responsible for business enablement, using a collaborative approach with business leaders to continually develop an understanding of the business to resolve business issues and provide solutions to support our leaders and employees.

What your day looks like:

  • Cultivate leadership capability across Aviso to increase organizational effectiveness and build strong relationships with leaders across the organization
  • Enable and collaborate with business leaders to identify key issues or opportunities, and provide tailored solutions aligned with Aviso’s strategic objectives and vision
  • Become a key enabler to the business to drive engagement by counseling, influencing and coaching leaders to support them in their leadership activities
  • Collaborate effectively with Aviso’s HR COE and broad HR teams to ensure completion of HR goals and strategy
  • Facilitate the implementation of HR programs and strategies within the business and the broader HR team or organization
  • Act as an Aviso brand ambassador both internally and externally, supporting Aviso’s Mission, Vision and Values as well as the company’s strategic objectives
  • Handle employee relations cases and coordinate with lawyers on conflict resolution
  • Work effectively in a team setting, coach, train and supervise other team members (HR Advisors, HR Coordinators) to achieve common goal
Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Human Resources Management or related field
  • CHRP/CPHR is an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources in a complex environment
  • Experience working in a financial services company is an asset
  • Solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite; including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required
  • Strong ability to build relationships with leaders across the organization
  • Very comprehensive knowledge of employment related laws, standards and regulations
  • Highly flexible, good tolerance for ambiguity and time-driven deadlines and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) coupled with strong interpersonal skills both in one-on-one and in group settings
  • Excellent judgment, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team spirit oriented and ability to coach and supervise HR Advisors and Coordinators when needed
  • Fluent communication in English is required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $83,000 - $100,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
