We’re looking for an experienced HR Generalist to provide broad HR support, advise employees and leaders, and independently manage sensitive workplace matters.

This is a hands-on role spanning employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, HR operations and workforce analytics. It would suit someone who brings strong judgement, discretion and confidence making informed HR decisions.

Why work for Encepta?

Encepta is a growing Canadian infrastructure company providing planning, design and data-collection services to telecommunications providers, utilities and municipalities. We combine technical expertise, innovative tools and practical field knowledge to help our clients build better networks and more connected communities.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers
  • Independently manage employee relations and sensitive workplace matters
  • Support compensation benchmarking, performance and benefits programs
  • Improve HR policies, systems and operational processes
  • Analyze workforce data and provide meaningful recommendations
  • Help shape a consistent, compliant and employee-focused workplace

We also offer:

  • Impactful Work: Contribute to the employee experience within a company helping strengthen infrastructure and connectivity across Canada.
  • Collaborative Team: Work closely with leaders and skilled professionals who value practical problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Growth and Development: Broaden your expertise across employee relations, compensation, benefits, analytics and organizational initiatives.
  • Flexible Work Model: Combine remote flexibility with purposeful in-person collaboration through our hybrid working arrangement.

What You’ll Work On

You’ll provide broad HR support across employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, compliance and employee engagement. Working closely with employees and managers, you’ll provide practical advice, interpret policies and ensure HR practices align with Canadian legislation and organizational objectives. You’ll also:

  • Advise employees and managers on workplace and employee relations matters
  • Conduct performance reviews, performance management and manager coaching
  • Conduct fair and confidential workplace investigations
  • Draft employment contracts, formal correspondence and legally sensitive HR documentation
  • Manage benefits and complex leave cases, including STD, LTD and workers’ compensation
  • Support compensation reviews, salary benchmarking and annual compensation cycles
  • Maintain employee information within HRIS platforms such as BambooHR, Dayforce or ADP
  • Update HR policies, procedures, employment agreements and employee handbooks
  • Interpret Canadian employment legislation, including the Canada Labour Code where applicable
  • Support health, safety, wellness, learning and engagement initiatives
  • Analyze HR metrics, including turnover, engagement and workforce demographics
  • Monitor employment legislation and regulatory changes

What You’ll Bring

You’ll be a strong fit for this role if you have:

  • 3-6 years of progressive HR experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment standards, human rights and health and safety legislation
  • Experience supporting employee relations, performance management, workplace investigations and terminations
  • Knowledge of benefits, disability management, and employee leave processes
  • Practical knowledge of compensation cycles, salary reviews and market benchmarking
  • Strong judgement, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Experience working with HRIS and applicant tracking systems such as BambooHR, Dayforce or ADP
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including pivot tables, data analysis and the ability to identify trends and provide practical recommendations.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • The confidence to manage multiple priorities and complex HR matters independently
  • A completed CPHR designation, or another relevant HR certification, is considered an asset.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

  • You bring sound judgement and discretion to sensitive employee and workplace matters.
  • You enjoy partnering with managers, providing clear guidance and helping them navigate complex people decisions with confidence.
  • You are confident working with HR data, know which trends matter and can turn information into practical recommendations
  • You balance hands-on HR delivery with a desire to improve systems, policies and the overall employee experience
  • You stay curious about evolving HR practices, employment legislation and how data and technology can improve the employee experience.

Apply today and help shape the employee experience at Encepta.
