Job Description

The Human Resources Business Partner plays a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle across assigned teams, with a focus on talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and HR analytics. This role acts as a trusted partner to managers, providing counsel and operational HR support while also helping to implement key initiatives such as DEI, wellness, and safety programs. The HR Advisor contributes to the continuous improvement of HR processes, coordinates leave management, supports compensation and performance cycles, and plays an active role in employer branding and employee engagement activities. Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Update, analyze and prepare routine HR reports and dashboards for circulation and review including but not limited to project resource schedules, leave of absence tracking, turnover analysis, etc.
• Provides counsel and support to managers/supervisors for assigned groups.

• Works with HR Manager to resolve employee relation issues. Investigations, counsel, and assist in resolving disputes with assigned groups. 
• Assist with creation and implementation of effective training and development programs to meet SOP requirements, skill proficiency and development needs. 
• Assist with the organization’s performance management process by coaching, education, and providing feedback to managers from their assigned group. 
• Provides HR support to safety programs, initiatives and processes including return to work, mental health, and coordination of workers compensation programs. 
• Respond and resolve employee questions or escalate to Manager with a strong focus on creating a positive employee experience.
• Coordinate the leave of absence process by addressing all employee questions and coordinating with internal stakeholders on leave management (i.e. pension, benefits, payroll, etc).
• Partner with HR team colleagues on opportunities to cultivate improved DEI and/or other targeted talent pipelines to reach company recruitment goals.
• Monitor labor market trends and raise opportunities to strengthen total 
compensation composition, positioning, and decision-making guidelines
• Support various ongoing and ad-hoc projects and initiatives (e.g., DEI, 
training/professional development, talent calibration, succession planning, etc.). • Collaborate with Employee Experience colleagues in planning and executing all employee meetings, retreats, development programs, etc.

Required Skills and Competencies

•  Post-secondary education with a major in Human Resources or related field.
• 3-5 years’ experience within Human Resources environment.
• Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and emerging project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deliverables.
• Experience with Workday is an asset.
• Experience in construction industry is an asset.
