About the role .
We are seeking a strong communicator to join us as an onsite Human Resources Specialist for our Potato Plant, based in Florenceville-Bristol. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for providing HR support to the Potato plant in three main areas: employee relations, talent acquisition of internal roles, and managing the employee leave of absence process. You will be leveraging your knowledge of local requirements and practices.
What you'll be doing.
  • Support people managers and employees with Employee Relations issues (activities may include conducting investigations, managing appeals, addressing misconduct, issuing discipline, suspension, and/or termination).
  • Working with the Senior Talent Acquisition Partner and onboarding team for external hiring, and leading the internal hiring process.
  • Manage candidate assessment and selection process to ensure alignment of talent and local business needs/succession plans.
  • Process voluntary and involuntary separations for in-scope employees, mitigating any potential risks and adhering to local legal requirements.
  • Manage in-scope employee movement and contract management, including the updating and changing of personal and individual work data.
  • Manage employee leave of absence process, including working closely with vendor, and initiating the leave of absence within the HR system.
  • Work with any relevant local authorities / vendors to ensure local legal requirements and business needs are adhered to.
  • Share insights and trends with key stakeholders to drive more effective / efficient HR customer service delivery.

What you'll need to be successful.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist
  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • Professional Human Resources certification would be an asset
  • General HR knowledge; comprehensive HR policy and process knowledge
  • Ability to apply HR knowledge / experience across HR policies, programs, processes and functions
  • Strong knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Strong business-specific knowledge coupled with project management and analytical skills
  • Proven teamwork capabilities; strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with impact and handle confidential information
  • Working knowledge of HR systems is beneficial, particularly SAP and SuccessFactors

About the team .
This position reports directly to the on-site Human Resources Business Partner who leads the HR function for all manufacturing plants on the Florenceville campus. The role also collaborates with various other corporate HR teams and the onsite HR Specialist at the Prepared Foods plant in Florenceville.

Compensation Package : $58,800.00 - $78,500.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
