The Risk Control Consultant will conduct inspections, provide risk analysis, and recommend strategies to minimize accidents and losses across various industries.
Davies is looking for Risk Control Consultants to work on an independent contractor basis.
Property and Casualty Insurance-based inspection work is the underlying foundation however, most projects are consultative in nature leading to a better understanding of risk, and a focus on reduction of exposures leading to fewer accidents, injuries, losses and claims.

Due to the rapid expansion and growth of our services and products at Davies, the Risk Consulting Division has immediate and ongoing needs for experienced independent contractor specialists in Fire Protection, Loss Prevention, Risk Control & Mitigation.

Qualifications:
Progressive career advancement and technical skills through continuing education, and/or a degree in Fire Protection, and/or B.Sc., and/or a M.Sc. and/or equivalent are required. Professional designations of EIT, P.Eng., CRM, CRSP, CIT, CIP are highly desirable but not a requirement.
Viable candidates should have a strong working knowledge and proven success in application of skills in two or more of the following:
- HPR/large property, Business Interruption
- Construction related operations
- Commercial Fleet Operations
- General Liability, Products Liability, Life Safety
- Environmental Assessments
- Safety Training, Workplace Safety, Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene
- Hazard Analysis and Consulting
- Ideal candidate will have the ability to travel
- certified instructor/trainer and presentation skills are desirable
- completion of insurance institute courses
- Bi-lingual is highly preferred - English & French
- a consultative and client service approach
- self-management, personal drive, and pride in your work
- ability to write clear, concise, yet comprehensive reports
- computer skills including use of typical office software packages
- ability to operate a vehicle and visit our client’s policyholders on site.
- some overnight travel when needed.
