Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC) is seeking an experienced IT professional to join the Corporate Services team in a fast-paced, challenging, and exciting work environment. Reporting to the Chief Administration Officer (CAO), the IT Supervisor will be responsible for leading EFC’s technology function.


EFC’s infrastructure and routine technical support are primarily delivered through managed service providers. The Supervisor ensures that those services are governed, aligned with business priorities and held to clear performance and risk expectations.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Technology strategy and portfolio leadership

  • Develop and execute the integrated technology strategy, roadmap and operating plan
  • Lead technology portfolio prioritization, governance and reporting
  • Provide recommendations to the CAO on technology investment, service models, architecture, sourcing and risks
  • Coordinate modernization initiatives across enterprise applications, data platforms, integrations and legacy-system renewal

Information, data and application governance

  • Establish and maintain governance for enterprise information, data, applications and technology
  • Oversee business application lifecycle management of enterprise applications and data platforms
  • Ensure business requirements, testing, release readiness, adoption, support hand-offs and ownership are defined for material changes
  • Champion data quality, common definitions, access controls, retention, metadata, documentation and responsible information sharing

Cybersecurity, privacy, risk and continuity

  • Lead cybersecurity governance and ensure risks, controls, incidents, vulnerabilities and remediation are actively tracked and escalated
  • Oversee technology policies, standards, compliance and audit readiness
  • Lead governance and escalation for major technology and security incidents
  • Oversee technology aspects of business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, recovery testing and critical-service resilience

Vendor, contract and financial management

  • Act as EFC's accountable owner for managed service providers and strategic technology vendors
  • Plan and monitor the IT budget, contracts, licensing, renewals, procurement and forecasts
  • Lead or support technology sourcing, procurement, administration and contract negotiations
  • Ensure internal accountability and expertise, using outsourced services to strengthen the IT team’s complement internal capability and do not leave accountability, institutional knowledge or decision rights with vendors

Operations and service management

  • Oversee service management, including incidents, changes, access, assets, configuration, and onboarding and offboarding
  • Monitor service performance and drive continuous improvement
  • Maintain technology documentation, inventories, and operational procedures

People leadership and stakeholder partnership

  • Lead, coach and support IT staff
  • Provide day-to-day direction to the IT staff, contractors and students, including maintaining time off requests and administering performance reviews
  • Partner with business-unit leaders to align technology solutions with organizational needs
  • Communicate technology decisions, risks, and priorities to stakeholders

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Practical knowledge of technology governance, cybersecurity risk, privacy, data management, business continuity and audit controls
  • Understanding of enterprise applications, cloud services, data platforms, analytics, integration, identity and access management, endpoint and network services, backup and recovery, and security operations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Salesforce, cloud ERP, Snowflake, Tableau or comparable enterprise technologies
  • Understanding of service-management, project-delivery and technology-control frameworks
  • Knowledge of vendor management, service levels, contracts, procurement, licensing, budgeting and technology forecasts
  • Strong relationship-building, communication facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong judgment, prioritization, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead change, technology implementations, process improvements and cross-functional projects
  • Ability to develop strategies, roadmaps, business cases, budgets, risk assessments, policies, executive updates and decision records

Education and Experience:

  • College diploma or university degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, business analysis, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in information management, technology management, enterprise applications, data, cybersecurity, service delivery or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated experience leading staff and vendors and coordinating complex initiatives involving multiple business units and external partners
  • Experience with technology strategy, budgets, contracts, risk, incidents, policies, application or data modernization and outsourced service delivery

  • Frequent interaction with staff and external stakeholders
  • Access to sensitive information, requiring discretion and confidentiality
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, use of a computer and close attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
  • After hours availability may be required during service interruptions
