Job Description

Position Overview

Ply Gem Canada, a part of Cornerstone Building Brands, is looking for a passionate, ambitious individual with a drive for sales and career growth to become part of our thriving team. Reporting to the Branch Manager and working closely with Outside Sales Representatives the Inside Sales Representative is responsible for providing sales support and maintaining positive customer relations while responding to problems and inquiries. Additionally, this successful candidate will work towards maintaining productive working relationships with internal and external customers and coordinating all orders from receipt to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers and Outside Sales Representatives with all inquiries regarding product, shipping, guidelines, warranty, etc.
  • Involved with the blueprint takeoff process, and quoting & ordering processes through direction from the Branch Manager and information from Outside Sales Representative
  • Daily processing of incoming orders in a timely manner
  • Performing daily order cross-checking.  Preferably this would occur prior to the order being transferred but must be completed within 48 hours (2 working days) of order transfer.
  • Coordinating the scheduling of orders with Production Control when customer requests
  • Run weekly open order report and follow up on open orders with customers.
  • Handle order change and rush request from Dealers and Sales team in a timely manner
  • Maintenance of sales files in conjunction with the Outside Sales Representatives and Branch Manager
  • Take part in employee review process, including establishing yearly goals and objectives that align with the Branch, Corporate and personal goals and objectives.
  • Continuous improvement in order management. Instill questions and review processes/practices and make recommendations accordingly
  • Works with the credit department to ensure orders are released in a timely manner
  • Are the primary point of contact internally for the accounts they represent
  • Payment and cash processing of orders and ensure payments and account statements are in order
  • Communicate with shipping departments and customers regarding shipping errors and discrepancies.
  • Deal with any issues resulting from delivery, i.e. late shipment, shortages, damaged products
  • Responsible for servicing customers directly by telephone, email. or in person
  • Confident in making sales calls if needed, and engaging directly with customers

This role has the potential to grow into an Outside Sales opportunity within the company.

Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Typing skills of at least 40 WPM
  • Fluent in English both written and oral

EXPERIENCE

  • 2-3 years prior experience as an Inside Sales Representative or similar role
  • Experience with plan reading and estimating is an asset

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate; Proficiency in using the Office Suite of products including (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
