Purpose

The primary purpose of the Inside Sales Representative is to provide support to Customers and Outside Sales Representatives (OSR). This position exists to align the designated Sales Team supporting the sales growth of the division.  The incumbent is responsible for providing quoting, estimating, and general sales support to assigned territories.  The role will actively work lead generations directly or connect them to OSR’s as appropriate.  The Inside Sales Representative will work closely with the ASC Deck OSR team and Technical Representative.  It is important for the incumbent to be self-organized, demonstrate the drive to generate leads via various communication channels, and possess the curiosity to grow in the sales profession. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Estimating plans for lump sum quoting opportunities as directed by Project Services Manager and per specific OSR support.  Make necessary clarifying calls to customers and Engineer of Record.
  • Vacation coverage for OSR’s
  • Issue and follow-up on customer quotes in support of specific territory strategies.  Document quotes in quote log.
  • Field inquiries and provide product and quote support for low volume customer base for specific territories
  • Prospect and develop new customer opportunities and understand their needs/requirements in coordination with specific territory strategies
  • Stay current of product knowledge, pricing, and competitor offerings. 
  • Assist OSR’s with product substitution submittals and other correspondence
  • Provide value engineering support to OSR’s on Lump Sum projects.
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings and 1:1 meeting with OSR, take responsibility for sales improvement initiatives and other assigned action items at direction of OSR’s and Sales Manager

•             Quote log

Education & Experience Qualifications

Minimum:        

•             Minimum High School Diploma/GED required.

•             3 years technical experience in sales, estimating, customer service and/or project management

•             2 years in commercial roofing and wall panel product knowledge; 2 years of experience in building products industry; or combined experience.

Preferred:         

•             5+ years technical experience in sales, customer service, estimating and/or project management

•             Knowledge of competitors steel deck Products

•             Knowledge of ASC Steel Deck Products

•             Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures

•             Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.

•             Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively

•             Ability to work as a team and work well with all levels of ASC Profiles.

•             Ability to work independently and with a team.

•             Ability to work with a sense of urgency.

•             Accountable for working as a team to ensure 100% customer satisfaction

•             Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Adobe, PowerPoint skills

•             Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•             Experience in SAP ERP System

•             High attention to details.

•             Manage all customer issues to completion and satisfaction.

•             Provide excellent Customer Service to all customers (internal & external)

•             Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, technical and contract documents, able to work independently, strong telephone communication skills

•             Ability to identify problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions to action

•             Self-motivated with a desire to be successful

•             Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Salary Range: The expected pay scale for this role is $xx-xx annually, depending on experience, skill set, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a targeted annual bonus of xx, health and welfare benefits and 401(k) match in accordance with BlueScope policies.
