The Technical Inside Sales Rep (Pumps) will be responsible for providing superior customer service to customers over the phone, via email or in person. Responsibilities include assessing the customer needs promptly and efficiently, making product recommendations, providing accurate information regarding the product details, taking sales orders and ensuring that delivery times and information are recorded accurately to ensure that we exceed the customers’ expectations.

What you will do:
- Completing the order process which includes generating sales orders, sourcing products, invoicing after closing sale
- Generating quotations both within and outside the point of sales system
- Providing all required information to complete a RFQ or tender
- Confirms details of delivery according to scheduled times and commitment dates
- Verifies all items are available for the customer as scheduled
- Ensure customers are provided with accurate pricing, inventory, and delivery information
- Required to make sales calls to new and existing customers to maintain relationships and to cultivate additional business
- Responding to customers’ requests and inquiries in a timely manner
- Responsible for achieving sales targets and objectives as set by manager
- Required to understand customer needs and promote and offer product knowledge to customers
- Follow up on outstanding work orders and estimates
- Adheres to company safety policies and regulations
- Work within a quality management system
What you will bring:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in pump sales within a business-to-business environment, including:
- In-line close and split coupled
- Base mounted close and split coupled
- Booster packages
- Technical knowledge of additional pump types, such as sump, sewage and effluent, circulator, jet, irrigation, turbine, and liquid transfer
- Technical knowledge of electric motors, fans, and blowers is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret pump data sheets and quote correct pumps based on specifications
- Strong ability to identify customer requirements through effective questioning
- Experience working with vendors to coordinate supply and delivery timelines that meet customer deadlines
- Knowledgeable about industry products
- High level of commitment to exceptional customer service and building effective customer relationships
- Excellent telephone and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Highly organized with strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Forklift experience is an asset
