🤙🏼 About gaiia

At gaiia, we're building the leading platform for Communications Service Providers (CSPs) that truly care about their customers. Our core product is an operating system (OS) for telcos that manages billing, operations, automation and everything in between.

We're passionate about taking care of our people, and it's not just lip service. We want you to focus on your job while we care for everything else. We offer competitive pay and benefits, flexible vacations, attractive stock options, unparalleled transparency, and a 100% remote environment. We're excited to have you join us for your next career adventure!

🎭 About the role

We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our Billing team and help shape how CSPs bill, collect, and get paid in gaiia. You’ll design clear, durable experiences for invoicing, payments, discounts, and collections, working closely with product and engineering to go from problem to shipped solution.

You’ll work from user research, customer feedback, support tickets and conversations with our implementation team, and you’ll prototype quickly to test ideas with your squad before they ship. The goal is to make billing simpler, faster and more trustworthy for operators and their subscribers. You’ll also help evolve our Boréal design system so we can keep shipping consistently high-quality experiences as we scale.

📽 What is your team working on?
  • Enterprise-scale operations: Every CSP has its own requirements, and billing is the most configurable area of the platform. You’ll keep it approachable for the teams who use it every day. Think admin settings, discount restrictions, permissions, CSP-level overrides, payment arrangements, and deposits.
  • Transparent charges: You’ll make charges and adjustments easy to explain for the people who answer for them. Think proration and clawback visibility, invoice detail, and previews before generation.
  • Flows across personas: One billing event moves through a CSP admin, a support agent, and the subscriber. You’ll design the journey between them. Think checkout, collections, client portal, and the communications that connect them.

💻 What you'll do at gaiia
  • Design end-to-end experiences for gaiia’s operational platform, from early concepts and prototypes to polished, shipped UI.
  • Work closely with product and engineering to turn ambiguous problems into clear scopes, strong interaction models, and durable design decisions.
  • Use research and rapid iteration to make complex workflows simpler, faster, and more trustworthy.
  • Use AI tools like Claude to explore options faster, validate decisions sooner and ship your designs to production code alongside engineering.
  • Build and evolve our Boréal design system so teams can ship consistently high-quality experiences as the product scales.
  • Partner with QA to review, test, with clear specs, edge cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Raise the bar on craft, accessibility, and clarity, sweating the details that make software feel effortless.

✅ Qualifications
  • 5+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio that shows strong craft and clear thinking.
  • Experience designing complex B2B software, ideally for communications service providers, ISPs or other subscription-based businesses. Experience with billing or payments is a plus.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools like Figma, FigJam and Claude Design, and experience using Claude Code and user testing tools in your workflow.
  • Strong grasp of user-centred design principles and the ability to translate customer needs into simple, high-quality experiences.
  • Experience planning and running research (remote and on-site interviews, usability testing) and using insights to iterate.
  • Familiarity with mixed-method research, experimentation (A/B testing), and agile product development.
  • Clear, structured communication and the ability to build alignment across design, product, and engineering.
  • Comfort working in fast-moving, highly iterative environments where ideas evolve through open dialogue and shared work, and where leadership adjusts priorities quickly based on customer needs.
  • Ownership mindset and growing leadership: you take responsibility for results, bring a point of view, align partners, and follow through.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to context-switch across multiple streams of work.
  • Openness to feedback, with a willingness to refine, rethink, and reimagine your work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in user experience design or a related field is a plus.

💰 Salary

At gaiia, we have a transparent salary philosophy and a robust evaluation and compensation framework. It translates to a fair and impartial model where salaries are published internally, healthy discussions about compensation and performance can exist, and taboos are removed. The salary range for this role is $90,000-$130,000 CAD

🔆 Benefits
  • Flexible 25 days of vacation.
  • Stock Options Plan.
  • Group Insurance.
  • Telemedicine.
  • Life Spending Account.
  • Employee-sponsored RRSP.
  • Flexible working hours & all-remote work.

We are an equal-opportunity employer committed to inclusivity and diversity. Our workplace is fully remote and boasts accessible technologies, ensuring all team members can thrive. Should you require accommodations due to a disability during the application process, please contact us at 581-996-9639 or [email protected] as per the Accessible Canada Act and human rights legislation.
