About the team

The Architecture & Innovation team works in partnership across the Product Group to deliver major breakthroughs in innovation by driving the evolution of the Maestro architecture and delivering new technology into the product. We perform long-lead design and prototyping work to de-risk major new initiatives and to assist the Product Management team in determining technical feasibility of new product ideas. We help to coordinate the design of new product features across development teams to ensure a consistent technical and architectural approach.

Location

You must be in the Ottawa, Canada office at least three days a week.

Term Duration

 This is a full-time, 8, or 12-month position, starting January 2027

Co-op / Intern Eligibility

This position is open to co-ops and interns. To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled in full-time education or be a recent/upcoming graduate within 12 months of the placement end date.

Compensation range

$25.24 - $37.02 hourly rate. The final offer within this range will reflect the candidate’s skills, year of education, and experience.

What you will do

• Help determine the best architecture and technology solutions for challenging software problems
• Develop software prototypes to prove out architectural ideas
• Research and recommend appropriate software technology
• Test your prototypes for function, performance, and scale
• May perform additional projects as requested

What we are looking for

• Students in Computer Science or related programs
• Familiarity with software development in Windows and Linux environment
• Programming experience with one or more of C/C++, .NET/C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, Go, Rust, SQL
• Experience with public cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• A strong drive to explore and experiment

Things that would definitely help

Familiarity with one or more of the following:

• Serverless computing
• Database concepts
• Micro-services development
• Kubernetes and Docker
• NodeJS
• Kafka
• Machine Learning
• Big Data and Analytics
