The focus of an IBDM is to develop, maintain, and expand both internal and external relationships within a specified geographic territory through regular strategic contact with Financial Advisors and your territory partners, as articulated in your quarterly business plan.

Position Responsibilities:

Activity and Sales (50%):

  • Make 40 daily calls to Financial Advisors to promote Manulife Bank products and schedule meetings.

  • Conduct meetings to drive sales, explain Manulife’s benefits, and build relationships.

  • Use Salesforce and AI for outreach and product integration.

Business Development/Strategic Growth (30%):

  • Assist with applications, service issues, and advisor concerns.

  • Coordinate with BDM partners on strategy and develop business plans.

  • Follow up on meetings and engage in marketing and budget planning.

Leadership and Collaboration (15%):

  • Mentor new members and create sales initiatives.

  • Liaise with various teams to enhance relationships and sales.

  • Share best practices across Manulife divisions.

Compliance & Best Practices (5%):

  • Ensure adherence to training and compliance standards.

  • Attend meetings and manage expenses responsibly.

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in banking/insurance

  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience with growing a client base - Proven track record as a sales professional or high potential to become one.

  • Ability to analyze sales data and reports.

  • Business planning and territory management skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Power BI, and Adobe platforms is an asset.

  • Banking, investment, and Insurance knowledge is an asset.

  • A strong passion for learning and development.

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec.

Salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
