As a Junior Software Developer at EventConnect, you'll build and implement core features with PHP and JavaScript, focusing on APIs and UI components while collaborating with product and UX teams.

EventConnect is a sports-tourism technology company that connects event organizers, teams, hotels, and destinations on one platform. We streamline registration, scheduling, housing, and payments to drive room nights and deliver a smoother travel experience. Headquartered in London, ON, we support tournaments across North America with dependable, customer-focused software.
What you’ll do
- Build and own core product features across our PHP + JS stack.
- Design, implement, and review performant APIs and responsive UI components.
- Collaborate with product and UX; participate in design & code reviews; ship reliably.
Must-have qualifications
- PHP framework: 1–2+ years with Laravel (preferred) or Symfony at comparable depth.
- Front-end: Vue.js (preferred) with 1+ years or React with 1+ years and a willingness to ramp to Vue (we’ll support cross-training).
- SQL/RDBMS experience (migrations, indexing, query tuning).
- Git workflow.
- Hybrid requirement: Able to work from our London, ON office 3 days/week after onboarding; onboarding is onsite 5 days/week.
- Eligible to work in Canada; commutable to London, Ontario Canada
Working conditions & perks
- Standard hours: Mon–Fri, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., with flex time.
- Hybrid: 3 days in office post-onboarding (up to 2 remote days/week).
