Job Summary

You will be working on software that supports air navigation and air traffic management services. You will primarily work developing and maintaining our Container Orchestration Platform based on Kubernetes. You will be expected to work with standard programming tools such as version control and deployment software, follow industry best practices, write tests for the code you write, and follow all applicable coding guidelines.
Your duties will include designing and architecting solutions for both internal and external systems, taking part in daily scrums, writing and developing modules for existing applications, configuring and deploying helm charts, upgrading Kubernetes clusters, and developing infrastructure as code.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage, support, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters deployed in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and on-premises environments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain new platform features and capabilities to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Support application teams with Kubernetes onboarding, deployment strategies, and operational best practices.
  • Develop, maintain, and review Helm charts used to deploy and manage applications.
  • Monitor cluster health, application performance, resource utilization, and platform availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, networking, storage, and application deployment issues.
  • Contribute innovative new ideas to continue to shape the product.

 

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from a recognized university or college with a degree or certification in Computer Science or Software Engineering or an acceptable combination of education, related experience, and training.

Experience:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience with containerization and creating or maintaining Kubernetes cluster.
  • Experience using Kubernetes and it’s eco system (Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana, Harbor, etc.)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code and relevant tooling.
  • Experience using Linux and Shell Scripting.

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service and other Azure services.
  • Familiarity with developing, configuring, and deploying HELM charts.
  • Knowledge of building resilient, fault-tolerant applications on Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes management components and cluster upgrade strategies
  • Knowledge of Cloud Native applications and tooling.

Abilities:

  • Advanced analytical skills to investigate and analyze software problems to develop, test and implement modifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to assess, repair, mitigate and find the root cause. 
  • Technical design and drafting skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team using Agile software development methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills and technical writing skills.

Working conditions:

  • Occasional travel required.

Flexible work arrangements:

  • This position is a hybrid position with a minimum of three (3) days per week on site.
