What You’ll Do:

Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Manager, the Temporary Lead Hand is an experienced operational leader who works collaboratively with the management to ensure consistent DC performance and continuous improvement. This role focuses on hands-on operational execution, team coordination, and frontline process optimization to enhance customer satisfaction, maintain throughput efficiency, and support distribution excellence in omni-channel fulfillment.

How you will contribute:

  • Support the Senior Operations Manager and Supervisor in identifying operational improvements and implementing process optimizations in DC functions
  • Execute established processes and workflows for omni-channel order fulfillment, supporting operational consistency during volume fluctuations
  • Participate in and support process improvement initiatives using proven methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) in assigned DC functions
  • Monitor and report on operational KPIs and performance metrics within area of responsibility; escalate issues to Operations Manager
  • Support carrier operations and order processing activities and assist with shipment scheduling and problem resolution
  • Identify and communicate process bottlenecks in order processing stages (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, returns) to management
  • Coordinate with carrier partners and internal teams to support on-time delivery and resolve fulfillment issues
  • Follow and reinforce established distribution center policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational optimization
  • Alert Senior Operations Manager and Supervisor for operational issues and support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across DC functions (receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, returns) and provide feedback from floor team
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve operational issues and support service delivery
  • Support Senior Operations Manager in coordinating labor scheduling, assisting with team coordination, and supporting talent development
  • Provide operational support across key DC functions and assist leadership as required
  • Support monitoring of operational costs and labor productivity and identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction improvements through quality execution, on-time processing, and problem-solving
  • Report on operational metrics and performance within assigned area to Senior Operations Manager or Supervisor
  • Other duties may be assigned

You will have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 2-4 years of hands-on experience in warehouse/distribution center operations
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Software (WMS), Oracle WMS experience preferred
  • 1 year of experience operating warehouse equipment, including order pickers, stand up reach trucks and sit-down forklifts. Swing-reach experience is preferred. Must be able to complete required equipment training and certification
  • Knowledge of domestic transportation and shipping operations
  • Experience supporting omni-channel fulfillment operations and direct-to-consumer logistics
  • Familiarity with process improvement principles (Lean, Six Sigma); willingness to support improvements
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain and carrier management
  • Strong problem-solving skills and operational decision-making ability
  • Excellent team collaboration and cross-functional communication skills
  • Ability to understand and track performance metrics and KPIs
  • Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to adapt to operational changes and support organizational growth

Salary Range: $30-$33 per hour, DOE. This position is a temporary position.
