Job Title: Lead Machine Learning Engineer
Degree Required: Master’s degree or equivalent foreign education

Develop ideas to expand our products involving both the hardware and software side of electronics, including Printed Circuit Boards, circuit design, algorithm development, and embedded processors, based on research conducted in collaboration with scientists and engineers.
Assess new product ideas from the standpoint of embedded hardware costs and computational limitations.
Direct and manage Artificial Intelligence research related to new products involving electronic hardware and software.
Oversee the research on new embedded electronic hardware technologies and investigate how they can and should be included in our future products.
Develop research parameters based on product requirements by applying knowledge of deployment of AI models on embedded electronic hardware, including microprocessors, FPGAs (“Field Programmable Gate Array”).
Investigate existing market of AI solutions and embedded electronic hardware, assess which might apply to new product ideas, and evaluate them based on reported data and claims, and in-house testing of existing AI models and electronic hardware.
Plan and execute complex research and advance engineering projects related to Artificial Intelligence and electronic hardware.
Program hardware to set up experiments, collect, and analyze data from experiments to generate insights and set direction for designing follow-up experiments.
Design prototypes for testing new features for products, case studies on which hardware is best suited for required feature implementations and provide consultations to groups needing to choose an embedded electronic platform for accelerated machine learning-based applications.
Provide consultations to groups utilizing machine learning for product development or process improvements.
Generate and capture inventions in intellectual property while developing new circuits, new software, or new applications built on embedded hardware.
Lead a team of AI/ML Engineers and Data Scientists who are primarily responsible for developing and optimizing computer vision, audio signal processing and machine learning algorithms for Gentex products by setting the technical direction and driving their accomplishment in completing assigned tasks.
*This position supervises two professional roles.

Hours of work: Usually 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
