Remilia Corporation is a pioneering arts and culture enterprise operating at the intersection of contemporary art, fashion, media, and community development. We're building an experimental social network that fundamentally reimagines digital community interaction, drawing inspiration from visionary systems like Xanadu and Urbit while incorporating elements from social games and MMOs.

We seek a Lead UX/UI Designer to execute the UX/UI design of a new social application. Reporting directly to our Design Director, you'll lead interface design for a platform that challenges conventional social media paradigms. This role demands a senior designer capable of translating complex conceptual frameworks into breakthrough user experiences that have never been attempted at scale.

UX/UI Development Leadership

• Lead all UX/UI development for gamified social applications across web and mobile platforms

• Execute and maintain design systems under direction of Design Director

• Drive implementation of design vision that transcends conventional social media patterns

Product Strategy & Innovation

• Define interaction models for social applications with integrated game mechanics

• Create information architectures for engaging, multi-platform social experiences

• Design novel approaches to user engagement, progression, and community building

• Balance sophisticated gamification with authentic social interaction

Execution & Implementation

• Ship production-ready designs within our lean agile development cycles

• Work autonomously while collaborating effectively with engineering leadership

• Balance experimental vision with technical constraints and user needs

• Drive user research and data-driven design decisions

Professional Excellence

• 8+ years UX/UI design experience with shipped digital products reaching significant user bases

• Portfolio demonstrating leadership of complex, innovative interface design projects

• Proven track record of designing successful novel interaction paradigms

• Experience establishing and scaling design systems for growing platforms

Technical Mastery

• Expert proficiency in Figma for interface design, prototyping, and design systems

• Deep understanding of front-end development constraints and mobile-first design

• Experience with user research methodologies and conversion optimization

• History of successful collaboration with engineering teams in agile environments

Specialized Experience Required

• Background in social platform design, game UX, or experimental digital experiences

• Understanding of engagement systems, user progression, and community dynamics

• Experience with non-conventional interface patterns or spatial information design

• Track record of shipping products that challenged established design conventions

Leadership Capabilities

• Ability to articulate and defend bold design decisions to stakeholders

• Experience mentoring designers and establishing design standards

• Self-directed work style with ability to drive projects independently

• Strong systems thinking and strategic approach to product design

We're seeking candidates with experience in:

• Social platforms with novel interaction models (not standard social media)

• MMO/social game interface design or virtual world experiences

• Decentralized platforms or alternative technical infrastructures

• Products serving distinctive cultural communities or niche audiences

• Design leadership at growing technology companies

• Frontend development experience with JavaScript/React, HTML, and CSS

• Understanding of frontend implementation constraints and code-level design decisions

• Experience with Cursor and Claude Code for AI-assisted development workflows

• Background in animation and motion design (Framer Motion, GSML, or similar)

• Experience with design tools beyond Figma (Principle, ProtoPie, etc.)
