The Legal Counsel provides comprehensive legal support across the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while mitigating risk. This role serves as a corporate generalist, supporting the negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements, advising on employment laws, as well as supporting product, HR, sales, and general litigation support.
Responsibilities
Drafting and reviewing commercial and corporate agreements.
Assisting in providing accurate, relevant, and timely advice on legal topics (e.g., fintech, labor laws, employment law, corporate matters, etc.).
General HR and employment law support.
Handling and assisting with a variety of other issues and projects as they arise, including product, sales, and litigation.
Desired skills and competencies
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
3-5 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and employment law.
Experience with mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and commercial transactions preferred.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Ability to balance legal risks with business objectives in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
Experience in a global or multi-jurisdictional environment is a plus.
High ethical standards and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.
