Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, Equipment Monitoring, and Site Visibility. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the role:

We’re seeking Legal Interns for Samsara’s 2025 Summer Internship Program, which will run from late May 2025 to early September 2025 (start/end dates are flexible based on academic schedules).

Our Legal team embodies Samsara’s core values of focusing on customer success, building for the long term, adopting a growth mindset, being inclusive, and winning as a team. We partner closely with our counterparts across Samsara – from our sales and marketing teams to our engineering and product teams, and everything in between – to help scale the business quickly and responsibly. We strive to provide practical solutions to complex problems. And we enthusiastically embrace the huge opportunity in front of us to have a positive impact on our customers, employees, partners, and communities in which we operate.

In this role, you will take on a broad range of legal issues that will predominantly focus on commercial contracts and related projects but may also include opportunities to learn more about intellectual property, privacy, employment, compliance, litigation, product counseling, regulatory, and corporate matters.

The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated and eager to learn; an independent yet collaborative person who excels in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and who can work across multiple teams. We want you to be a force-multiplier, making those around you more effective. You have strong communication and interpersonal skills and are comfortable taking on new challenges. You focus on the details, and you also have the broad vision to bring large and multi-stepped projects to completion.

This is a fully remote 12-week summer internship. Interns will have the opportunity to visit our headquarters office in San Francisco regardless of where they are based, and (although not required) any interns based in the Bay area will have the option to work from this office during the internship.  We have two summer cohorts for the internship: May 19-August 15, 2025 or June 23-September 12, 2025. Which cohort you enter will be determined by your school schedule. We will not be providing relocation for this role and being in-office for this role is not required. We are only considering rising 2L and rising 3L students for this internship at this time.

You should apply if:

  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You are the architect of your own career: We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development, along with countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper growth environment.
  • You’re energized by our opportunity: The vision we have to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forth creative, ambitious ideas for our customers.
  • You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-caliber team that will encourage you to do your best.
