Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Product Network Cybersecurity Specialist with a focus on public and private infrastructure. The specialist will be responsible for developing and analyzing the integration, testing, operations, and maintenance of cybersecurity solutions within the Telesat Lightspeed Cloud and Network Infrastructure systems. The specialist will ensure that the cybersecurity implications of all new and upgraded technologies to the Lightspeed program are evaluated and will provide related guidance to ensure that the solutions are implemented securely. 

Responsibilities

  • Understand Lightspeed goals and objectives 
  • Advise on risk levels and security posture for Telesat Lightspeed Cloud and Network Infrastructure
  • Develop Computer Network Defense (CND) guidance for Lightspeed stakeholders 
  • Determine if baseline security safeguards are appropriately installed 
  • Manage threat and target analysis for the Telesat Lightspeed Cloud and Network Infrastructure 
  • Determine the effectiveness of Telesat Lightspeed Cloud and Network Infrastructure cybersecurity safeguards 
  • Determine if Lightspeed protection and detection capabilities are consistent with organization-level cybersecurity architecture 
  • Provide support of cost/benefit analyses of Lightspeed cybersecurity recommendations 
  • Determine the operational and safety impacts of cybersecurity lapses related to Telesat Lightspeed Cloud and Network Infrastructure 
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and draft reports on security practices for network and cloud deployments 
  • Stay up to date with the latest security trends and hacker methodologies to ensure our security measures are always one step ahead 
  • Propose and review network security measures to protect sensitive data and systems from infiltration and cyber-attacks 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of industry cybersecurity models, frameworks, principles and practices 
  • Clear understanding of Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, Authenticity, and Non-repudiation principles and practices 
  • Proven experience in defense-in-depth principles and practice on Public and Private Clouds 
  • Experience with network architecture and firewall principles is a significant asset
  • Familiarity with authentication technologies (such as 802.1x, EAPol) and network related protocols 
  • Industry recognized professionalcertification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CEH is a plus 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for solving complex vulnerabilities in both Cloud and Network systems 
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with colleagues and executives facilitating the explanation of complex security issues in simple terms 

The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain reliability clearance.
