Job Summary:
The LSI Specialist is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and managing locally available products or materials that align with the organization’s operational, ethical, and sustainability goals. This role involves collaborating with local suppliers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness, and maintaining compliance with organizational standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement of locally sourced items to support local operational needs.

  • Identify and evaluate local suppliers to ensure they meet the organization’s requirements in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local vendors and stakeholders.

  • Support sourcing activities by understanding stakeholders’ needs and communicating sourcing policy.

  • Facilitate internal communication with users and stakeholders to collect needs and inquiry associated with items validation

  • Lead and support the creation and amendment of supplier and item record

  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with local suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, terms and conditions

  • Lead margin growth initiatives and cash improvement in the assigned region to achieve the established deflation and cash target.

  • Ensure timely delivery of goods while maintaining cost and quality benchmarks.

  • Generate regular reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for locally sourced items

  • Work closely with other departments to align local sourcing strategies with global strategies and overall business objectives

Quality and Compliance

  • Ensure all locally sourced items comply with organizational standards, legal requirements, and sustainability goals.

  • Monitor and address risks associated with local sourcing, such as supply chain disruptions or regulatory changes.

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job.

  • Knowledge and understanding of GEHC Purchasing Controls Procedure and associated Work Instructions and operates within them to ensure that all purchased product and services conform to specified requirements.

  • Develop and maintaining of fully qualified and compliant supply base

  • Maintain accurate records of supplier performance, cost analysis, and inventory levels.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • 2-4 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, with a focus on local sourcing preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Strong communication and influence skill

    • Strong negotiation skills

    • Analytical and problem-solving abilities

    • Quick learning capability to strong passion to resolve problems

    • Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and ethical sourcing.

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

    • High spirit of integrity and compliance

    • Proactive work attitude to manage complexity

    • Resilience towards pressure and change

    • Proficiency in procurement systems and software.

    • Knowledge of local markets and sourcing practices.

    • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and French
