LastPass is looking for an Engineering Manager:

In this role, you will lead the team responsible for developing the LastPass browser extension and shaping the future of LastPass web clients. As an Engineering Manager, you will drive initiatives to continuously improve the quality, reliability, and performance of our web applications, while ensuring the team is aligned with broader product and business goals.

You will be accountable for team performance and delivery, including prioritizing work, managing technical risk, and ensuring projects are executed effectively and on time. You’ll proactively identify opportunities for improvement—both technical and organizational—and foster clear, transparent communication with cross‑functional stakeholders. A deep understanding of customer needs, and a strong commitment to delivering real customer value, will be central to how you lead and make decisions.

About the team:

The team is responsible for building and maintaining core product experiences that enable users to securely manage and access their credentials. This includes owning the browser extension, the part of the product most users interact with daily. The team operates across multiple locations and time zones, collaborating closely to tackle complex challenges spanning platform integration, security, scalability, and user experience. Collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement are at the heart of how the team works, ensuring high‑quality, reliable solutions for our customers.

If you are passionate about complex problem solving and motivated by scale, then this is the role for you!

Who will you work with?

Please note: While this position is remote, we prefer candidates who can work EST or CST hours to ensure alignment with business needs.

  • A team of experienced engineers with diverse skill sets, distributed across multiple time zones, and making a meaningful impact across the broader engineering organization
  • Engineering teams and leaders—both within and beyond your immediate organization—to drive product and process improvements through close collaboration
  • Subject matter experts and architects who validate, review, and communicate technical changes and best practices
  • Product leadership to ensure strong alignment between product strategy and execution
  • Project and delivery leaders who support smooth, predictable delivery of initiatives
  • Active members of engineering guilds and communities, fostering knowledge sharing, standards, and continuous improvement

What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?

  • Driving high‑complexity initiatives within an evolving organization, balancing long‑term vision with near‑term execution
  • Leading your team to design and implement robust solutions that ensure business continuity while continuously improving software quality and user experience
  • Attracting, developing, and retaining top engineering talent, building a strong and engaged team
  • Managing performance and providing regular coaching and mentorship to help engineers grow and succeed
  • Clearly understanding and communicating product initiatives, ensuring alignment across your team and with peer groups
  • Shaping and strengthening the engineering culture to create a fulfilling, inclusive workplace that delivers value to customers and users
  • Implementing and refining processes and quality standards, defining meaningful metrics, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Collaborating with other leaders and actively engaging with the local and broader technology community to influence and learn

What does it take to work at LastPass?

  • Experience leading and developing engineering teams, with a strong people‑first mindset
  • Proven success delivering high‑volume, customer‑facing products and acting on user feedback
  • Solid technical background, with preferred experience in web and browser extension development
  • Strong understanding of agile engineering practices and the ability to maintain delivery flow
  • Quality‑driven and customer‑obsessed approach to building software
  • Ownership mindset with accountability that extends beyond team boundaries
  • Experience with operational excellence, including observability, monitoring, and incident response
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience leading teams across multiple time zones and cultures
  • Collaborative, curious, and adaptable, with strong problem‑solving skills and a can‑do attitude

It's great, but not required:

  • Hands‑on experience in software development, with exposure to modern web technologies
  • Experience leading or contributing to complex, multi‑team initiatives
