We are searching for the best talent to join Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Canada as a Manager of Internal Communications & Engagement, located in Toronto (with at least 3 days in office per week). This will be a 12-month contract role.
Purpose: The internal communications manager is responsible for developing and delivering the internal communications strategy for our organization to support employees’ understanding of our leadership’s vision and direction, increase employees’ alignment with the organization’s strategy, amplify key aspects of our organizational culture, and enhance employees’ experience of working at J&J, with the ultimate aim of growing overall engagement and organizational effectiveness, and empowering advocacy for J&J and our industry.
Responsibilities:Develop and implement the internal communications strategy for the organization, including key messaging, communication channels, and tactics
Work with the leadership team and key internal business partners to ensure all internal communication is clear, consistent, and aligned with the company’s goals and values
Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure that internal communications are timely and relevant
Compose and deliver internal communications content, including email updates, newsletters, intranet content, videos, podcasts, and presentations
Maintain the content in the company’s internal communication channels directly and in support of contributors from across the company, ensuring the content is up to date, user-friendly, and aligned with the company’s goals and values
Coordinate internal events and other initiatives to promote employee engagement and strengthen company culture
Find opportunities to increase employee engagement and help foster a positive company culture
Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications, and recommend improvements based on feedback and data analysis
Assist with crisis communications, ensuring all employees are informed and up to date
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field
Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate communication or related field
Experience working in a matrix environment, collaborating multiple partners simultaneously, and leading with influence
Exceptional writing, editing, and oral communication skills. The ability to understand target audiences and translate complex concepts into clear and concise messages
Experience managing, leading and implementing multiple projects simultaneously
Experience with content creation and delivery (e.g. email, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations)
Demonstrated experience translating strategic concepts into action plans and implementing initiatives at an operational level
Proven track record of providing proactive and innovative communication counsel, with strong collaboration and partnering skills with business leaders
Thrives in fast-paced environments, is flexible, collaborative and deadline driven
Able to analyze issues and opportunities and communicate their overarching impact
Able to think beyond the “tried and true” to devise innovative ways to communicate, while aligning with goals and objectives
