Ciena is seeking a Manager, IT Identity Management to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our identity management systems. Reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure Foundational Services, you’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding our digital assets and user identities while driving strategic initiatives that support business goals.
How You Will Contribute:
Lead and mentor a team of identity management professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development while driving strategic initiatives in collaboration with the IAM Architect.
Design, implement, and maintain scalable identity management systems, including user provisioning, access control, and authentication mechanisms, ensuring seamless integration with other IT systems and applications.
Ensure compliance with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and internal security policies through audits, risk assessments, and proactive mitigation of vulnerabilities.
Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluate third-party solutions to meet organizational identity management needs while adhering to security standards.
Stay ahead of industry trends and advancements in identity management technologies, recommending process improvements and system enhancements to drive efficiency and scalability.
Develop and deliver role-based training programs to educate employees on identity management best practices, fostering awareness and compliance across the organization.
Monitor system performance using data analytics tools, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes or enhancements to maintain optimal efficiency and security.
The Must Haves:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
Minimum of 8 years of IT experience
Minimum 5 years in identity and access management, including team leadership roles.
Deep knowledge of identity management principles and methodologies, including Zero Trust and Principle of Least Privilege frameworks.
Strong understanding of industry regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, NIST CSF 2.0, MITRE ATT&CK, HIPAA, SOX).
Expertise in identity-related standards and protocols (SAML, OAUTH, OIDC, SCIM, LDAP) and hands-on experience with enterprise IDP, PAM, and authentication/authorization solutions (e.g., Okta, Active Directory, EntraID, CyberArk).
Proficiency in Identity Governance and Administration, including identity lifecycle management, centralized identity repositories, and audit/compliance methodologies.
Exceptional problem-solving, change management, and service review skills, with a strong appreciation for user experience (UX).

Pay Range:
The annual pay range for this position in the USA is $126,300 - $201,700 USD
The annual pay range for this position in Canada is $111,700 - CAD178,400 CDN

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
