The Opportunity

AgeCare is seeking an experienced IT Network & Telecommunications Manager to provide technical expertise, operational support, and technological oversight for communications, network infrastructure, and site technology systems across healthcare and long-term care environments.

This role is responsible for supporting and integrating network infrastructure, telephone systems, copier services, nurse call systems, building automation systems, electronic access control systems, CCTV, and related site technologies. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, service providers, system vendors, consultants, and implementation partners to ensure technology solutions align with operational requirements, organizational standards, cybersecurity expectations, and long-term technology objectives.

The role requires technical knowledge to support technology assessments, solution reviews, implementation planning, and initiatives that enhance resident care, operational effectiveness, business continuity, and secure site operations.

What You Will Do

  • Support the operation, improvement, and lifecycle management of network infrastructure in collaboration with IT teams, vendors, and operational stakeholders.

  • Provide technical expertise across network technologies including Fortinet firewalls, IPsec VPNs, WAN/LAN connectivity, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, WiFi, fibre connectivity, network switches, and related infrastructure.

  • Provide oversight and support for telecommunications platforms, including VoIP, PBX, SIP, call routing, voicemail, and related connectivity requirements.

  • Support healthcare technology systems, including nurse call platforms, mobile integrations, and resident communication solutions.

  • Provide technology oversight for site systems including Building Automation Systems (BAS), electronic access control, CCTV, and video surveillance solutions.

  • Conduct technology assessments, requirements analysis, technical reviews, and solution evaluations to support technology initiatives and modernization efforts.

  • Review vendor proposals, technical specifications, and implementation plans while coordinating deployments, issue resolution, and lifecycle planning.

  • Promote secure, reliable, and compliant technology operations aligned with organizational standards, privacy requirements, and cybersecurity expectations.

  • Maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, configurations, asset information, and procedures.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5–7 years of experience supporting network infrastructure, telecommunications, healthcare technology, building systems, or related technology environments.

  • Experience with VoIP/PBX platforms, nurse call systems, Building Automation Systems, access control, CCTV, and related site technologies.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with vendors, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of technical assessments, solution evaluation, technology governance, and lifecycle management.

  • Experience in healthcare, long-term care, senior living, hospitality, or multi-site environments is considered an asset.

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and cloud-based services is considered an asset.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of network infrastructure technologies, including Fortinet firewalls, VPNs, WAN/LAN connectivity, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, WiFi, fibre infrastructure, network switches, and related hardware.

  • Hands-on experience supporting enterprise WiFi solutions, including wireless design considerations, coverage, connectivity, security, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience supporting nurse call bell systems or resident communication platforms within healthcare, long-term care, or similar environments.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, project coordination, and documentation skills.
