About the role .
As a key member of the North American Talent Acquisition team, the Manager owns the success of the North American Manufacturing talent strategy and execution for the NA West locations. Acting as a strategic HR partner, the Manager will ensure delivery of the shared business goals, strategies, and initiatives as it pertains to hiring within our largest region. This hands-on role will focus on leading a team of manufacturing recruiters to build talent pipelines, creating process efficiencies, and elevate the McCain brand across five (5) of our manufacturing plant locations throughout Canada and the United States to meet current and future business needs.
This person can sit out of any of our corporate offices in Canada (Toronto, ON; Florenceville, NB) or Manufacturing sites within the West Canadian region (Carberry, MB; Portage, MB; Coaldale, AB).

Compensation Package : $81,600.00 - $108,900.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility

What you'll be doing .
- Provide strategic leadership and development to four recruiters across North America; Ensure they are equipped with the right tools to stay motivated and engaged through direction, mentorship, and recognition
- Own, design and execute innovative sourcing and recruitment strategies relevant to hourly and salaried hiring populations across various geographies
- Act as brand ambassador for McCain Potato divisions and lead a resource that is aligned to develop and manage McCain's online presence and strategy to enhance the brand image in all markets
- Partner with Manufacturing leadership teams (HRBPs, Plant HR and Plant Leadership) to own and evolve full life cycle recruiting efforts to build an innovative and agile workforce based on data, trends, and market intelligence
- Build a talent acquisition strategy to showcase the ROI, including but not limited to systems, processes, reporting and metrics to support recruiting, sourcing, and retention strategies
- Reinforce a consistent recruiting process delivering an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience, with supporting metrics and KPIs
- Educate and coach the team and business on talent assessment skills and hiring best practices as it pertains to day to day needs as well as projects related to expansions, relocation of talent and vendor support
- Facilitate/lead team discussions regarding internal talent movement and alignment to workforce plans
- Support hand's on recruitment of the largest manufacturing site in the NA network, balancing the responsibility of both a full desk and people management
- Leads the continuing evolution of our talent acquisition manufacturing team in an environment that demands quick thinking, workload balancing, aggressive sourcing skills and a proactive approach
What you'll need to be successful .
- Bachelor's Degree Required; Human Resource Management or related field preferred
- 6+ years of progressive experience as an in-house talent acquisition manager in a manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of leading transformation and large scale change initiatives in manufacturing talent acquisition
- Comfort with ambiguity and managing in a matrixed structure with shifting priorities
- Experience with rapid growth is important
- Creative sourcing skills, a digital-first mindset, and solid technology skills
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Expertise as a business partner to business operations with proven experience in providing recruitment strategy to leadership
- Ability to act independently as well as being part of a Global and Regional HR Team
- Ability to remain agile, supporting multiple sites/plants
