**REMOTE** Canada
Based remotely in the US or Canada and working as part of the Global Controllership team, the Manager, Revenue Accounting is a critical resource in addressing existing/emerging/developing issues affecting the company’s revenue recognition and related accounting on a global basis, with special emphasis on the emerging digital business line. The Manager, Revenue Accounting will operate with a global remit and responsibility for:
- Operating as part of the “center of excellence” pertaining to the accounting for the Company’s revenue cycle, including revenue recognition and accounting for certain costs (such as contract fulfillment costs) in accordance with ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers to ensure consistent application of US GAAP across the global organization, principally focusing on revenue and cost issues related to the Company’s emerging digital business unit
- Serving as a revenue recognition accounting subject matter expert (SME) and critical business partner working with the digital business unit and various other internal customers to support on complex revenue transactions, including consulting on specific application of technical revenue recognition literature and advising on how to operationalize the accounting for such transactions into our general ledger
- Partnering with the digital business unit to advise on the accounting implications of new and emerging products and services, including implications related to software licensing, professional services and contract costs
- Reviewing customer contracts within the digital business unit and concluding on, documenting and communicating proper accounting treatment
- Developing and documenting global standardized policies and processes to achieve policy alignment for new and existing digital accounting issues, and working with regional and local teams on adopting and operationalizing such processes, as well as updating such policies to align with changes in the Company’s business
- Assisting the Revenue COE with ad-hoc projects and other issues related to revenue recognition and contract costs outside of the digital business
