You as a Communications Specialist will:

  • Support initiatives that advance key business objectives and project requirements across our public infrastructure portfolio.
  • Create a range of communications materials, including website and portal content, key messages, presentations, speaking notes, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Assist with the development of stakeholder engagement, community relations, and issues management plans.
  • Attend project communications meetings and support stakeholder and community engagement activities.
  • Identify and coordinate project and industry award submissions.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with project teams, clients, government partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with internal creative, marketing, and business teams to deliver effective communications programs.
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of project events, media opportunities, site visits, and milestone celebrations.
  • Monitor emerging issues and provide communications support and recommendations as required.

Is this role right for you?

  • Degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, combined with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic communications plans, creating communications materials, supporting media and stakeholder relations, and coordinating special events.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to create both creative and technical communications content.
  • Strong project management, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings for industry events (approximately once per month) and travel as required, primarily within the GTA.
  • The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000
