Software Secured focuses on helping startups, scaleups and SMBs comply with industry specific Governance, Risk and Compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO27001 & PCI DSS, HIPAA etc.), prove security maturity to enterprise buyers with stringent security requirements and gain peace of mind that their most sensitive company assets have been secured. 

We’re seeking an experienced and driven Marketing Manager to join our team, where you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the success of our penetration testing efforts. This position requires a dynamic individual who excels in cross-functional collaboration, building strong internal and external relationships, and taking initiative to adapt and pivot in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. You will lead the development and execution of comprehensive go-to-market plans, including service and product positioning, launch strategies, partner marketing, and sales enablement materials. Additionally, you will create compelling messaging and content that effectively communicates the value and differentiation of our cybersecurity solutions to various audiences, including leads, customers, partners and more.

This role requires exceptional project management, communication, marketing skills, and the willingness to take initiative, try new things, and work as a team. Expect to travel approximately 10% of the time and have some meetings outside of your standard working hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Messaging
    • Develop and refine clear, compelling messaging that effectively communicates the unique value propositions and differentiators of our security services and our platform. Ensure consistency across all marketing channels and materials, tailoring messages to resonate with various target audiences, including leads, customers, and partners.
  • Content Creation: 
    • Lead the creation of high-quality content that supports marketing campaigns and sales efforts. This includes blogs, whitepapers, case studies, webinars, videos, web pages, and more to educate and engage our audience, demonstrating the effectiveness and benefits of our cybersecurity solutions.
    • Develop a multi-channel content strategy and calendar in collaboration with practitioners, and internal thought leadership priorities and stakeholders.
    • Manage service line web pages and plan digital marketing campaigns.
    • Refresh sales tools, pitch decks, and collateral to enhance presentation formats.
    • Develop and compose content for email, social media, and digital advertising campaigns
    • Build and maintain a mailing list database for the service lines in Hubspot.
  • Partner Marketing
    • Define, develop and execute partner co-marketing strategies with key partners to maximize opportunities and drive growth for both parties.
    • Develop with each partner a co-marketing plan that targets relevant market and customer segments, and geographical regions.
    • Explore new ways of engaging with partners and their customers to learn about their business that uncovers new opportunities for Software Secured services.
    • Develop co-branded content that articulates the combined strengths of the partner solution for reputation and awareness, contact acquisition and lead generation.
  • Strategic Go-to-Market Planning: 
    • Given strategic direction from management, you will drive the development and execution of comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new service launches and new product features. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define target markets, positioning, pricing, and promotional tactics, ensuring a successful market entry and sustained growth.
  • Competitive Advantage Development:
    • Serve as a company expert on the competitive landscape, developing competitive overviews and battlecards to keep Product/Sales teams informed about changes and unique selling points; surface new features that enable the assigned product suite to stay ahead of the competition. 
    • Develop internal enablement materials that help Sales articulate the assigned product’s value proposition to appropriate targets, including playbooks with ideal customer profile and buyer persona guides. 
    • Conduct customer and competitive research; share findings and use insights to inform product marketing strategy. 
    • Stay abreast of the market landscape and trends, sharing learnings, best practice and insights with the Marketing team and business stakeholders.
  • Track, analyze, and report on the progress against our marketing program goals and ROI, with accountability for attaining goals relating to new customer acquisition, product adoption and revenue. 
  • Assist with developing and maintaining the marketing budget, tracking expenditures, managing invoice reconciliation and measuring ROI.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in marketing. Industries: Technology, SMB SaaS, Cybersecurity, and Services are preferred. Experience in product marketing or product management is strongly preferred.
  • Education: Post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in marketing, business administration, communications, economics, or equivalent experience.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and opportunities.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to evangelize messages to customers, analysts, sellers, and more.
  • Customer Focus: Passion for understanding and solving customer problems.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others.
  • Creativity: Leverage your creative thinking to develop innovative go-to-market strategies and messaging that capture the attention of our target audience in a competitive market.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Utilize your strong critical thinking skills to analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitive landscapes, identifying key insights that drive strategic decisions. Approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset, developing effective solutions that address complex issues and enhance our product marketing efforts.

What we're offering:

🤑 Competitive salary ( $100k base salary, up to $120k OTE)

🍁 Work remotely anywhere in Canada (you're welcome to work in the Ottawa office when you'd like the option).

🌍 Work remotely from anywhere in the world for up to 2 months per year.

💰 Yearly profit-sharing between 7 - 12% of your base salary, based on your performance.
