CARFAX Network Engineering is a highly collaborative, diverse, and distributed team - we don't expect you to meet a rigid list of technical requirements, but we do require you to be a network nerd with some great real-world experience!
Your mission is to support and improve our network. We don't do direct staff end-user support, however we regularly collaborate with multiple internal technical teams to support their projects. In addition, we're always evolving network capabilities with new technologies and projects to make our network secure, fast and reliable.
The CARFAX Network Team is a fun-loving and low-stress team with minimal on-call responsibilities. We don't burn the candle at both ends and we truly embrace a cooperative framework. We have a well developed on-boarding process to ease you into your new job.

What you'll be doing:
- Scaling AWS: Help manage our primary cloud network infrastructure in AWS, including VPC sizing, Transit Gateway, R53, and Direct Connect. You’ll be a key participant in planning sessions to help shape how our network scales.
- Multi-Cloud Access: Ensure seamless, secure network access across AWS, Azure, and GCP footprints. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with multiple providers.
- Infrastructure as Code: We use Terraform to manage our infrastructure, so you should be comfortable building through code rather than manual clicks. Any Python skills to help us automate and standardize regular work is beneficial.
- Security: Protect our traffic using WAF and Firewall Manager. Help us explore new technologies such as Lattice and other service-based network constructs. You'll help keep our "front door" secure while simplifying how our internal services communicate.
- Practical Problem Solving: We value experience and wisdom from roughly 5–8 years of practical experience over theoretical certifications. You’ll be a key player in diagnosing routing issues and keeping our production environment healthy.

What we're looking for:
- Must have foundational knowledge of traditional networking (switching, routing, BGP, ACLs, etc.)
- Ability to operate effectively in a multi-vendor environment.
- 5+ years of experience with AWS Networking, primarily managed through Terraform.
- 2+ years of experience with Azure and GCP.
- Real world experience with large cloud deployments supporting Internet delivered products.
We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
