Position Summary:

Customer Projects and Implementation at Miovision is looking for a Network Implementation Engineer to join our world class customer implementation team.Through best practices and solid technical skills we ensure our project implementations exceed customer expectations, meet internal business needs, and drive a culture of Customer First.

Our Network Implementation Engineer promotes customer satisfaction by assisting our project management team with installation of on premise ISO images and network configuration, and remote networking set up and support. This role is a critical point of contact for Miovision, building and maintaining relationships with customers,by  executing technical deliverables in breakthrough technology. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for networking and implementation activities for including both on premise customer systems and remote cloud systems.
  • Performs technical review of project design and coordinates as needed with technical implementation and engineering teams. 
  • Collaborates with internal cross-functional teams to ensure project technical needs are met. 
  • Performs ongoing system support for customers after project closeout as required. 
  • Develops a thorough understanding of and intelligently communicates Miovision’s product and technology portfolio to customers.
  • Develop and deliver custom solutions to meet customer’s requirements.
  • Lead the field-testing activities required for customer projects and/or new product launches.
  • Provide ongoing technical support, training, and customer service as needed.
  • Write technical documents including customer requirements, integration and/or product customization and communicate with the development team.
  • Write and perform  technical training including installation manuals and troubleshooting guides.
  • Train fellow employees in the use, configuration and validation of our systems.
  • Identify improvements and automation collaborating with engineering and product management.
  • Translates technical requirements from customer to Miovisions’s product development team to implement appropriate solutions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Travel of up to 5% in North America. 
Skills Required:
  • Demonstrates customer first qualities in all areas of focus
  • Demonstrates experience in network and IT setup for  complex ITS or technology projects.
  • Experience setting up VPNs between organizations
    • AWS Site-to-Site VPN
    • VPN terminology and troubleshooting
    • Familiarity with Cisco, Palo Alto, SonicWall firewalls a plus, but not required
  • Software programming experience with various languages
  • Experience creating Virtual Machines within multiple VM environments
  • Mobile Router Configuration/troubleshooting
  • Network troubleshooting
  • Proficiency with:
    • Open VPN
    • Chef Server
    • SSH
    • AWS/VPC
    • SQL 
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Sets high expectations for results and sets a personal example of accountability
  • Actively experiments with innovative methods to solve problems
  • Demonstrates a broad experience of problem solving and root cause analysis to solve difficult or complex problems
  • Ability to quickly grasp new technology including electrical, cloud computing and networking concepts
  • Demonstrates ability to use customer insights to identify and exceed customer needs
  • Consistently makes decisions based on sound judgment, core ethics, and company values, regardless of circumstances and pressure while driving for successful customer and company outcomes
Experience Required:
  • Previous experience in traffic, ITS, public safety, and/or transit industry is valued.
  • 5+ years of network engineering experience minimum.
  • Bachelors or 4-year degree (engineering or technical field).
