The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
Your Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Student - Manufacturing Engineering/Machining for Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will...

  • Support multiple departments in daily functions. Maintaining and updating existing tools, reports, and processes.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope
  • Gather, review, and analyze information and assist on various projects as directed by Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating routing, method, layout, tool, and quality plan documentation for current operations and/or new parts.


This position is NOT available to students on immigration visas.
What Skills You Need

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in engineering, technology, or computer science; others may apply.
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited college/university
  • Graduation date Spring 2026 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Available to work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
  • Available to work 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
  • Must be able to commute to the Waterloo, IA work location on daily basis
  • Experience using Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint


What Makes You Stand Out

  • Good interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency using CAD software, preferably Creo or AutoCAD
  • Proficiency using Excel advanced functions such as macros or pivot tables
  • Experience machining metal (turning, milling, drilling)
  • Experience with interpreting part prints and GD&T designations
  • Experience using Power BI, Tableau, or other data analysis tools
  • Experience in using SAP
