What you can expect from us:

We’re committed to offering a competitive, transparent, and fair experience from the very start. The base salary range for this role, based in Windsor, is $85,000 - 108,000. Throughout the interview process, we take the time to understand your unique experience, skills, and strengths to ensure your compensation aligns with the scope of the role and is equitable alongside internal peers. You’ll join us in the Windsor office (2072 Riverside Dr. E. Job Summary: 

The People Cost Controller plays a critical role in shaping how Pernod Ricard North America plans, manages, and optimizes its workforce investment. This role leads the Payroll and Benefits forecasting process, ensuring accuracy across budgets, rolling forecasts, and monthly proxied actuals. The People Cost Controller provides clear, data-driven insights that guide senior leadership decisions on organizational structure, workforce planning, and long-term cost efficiency. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of analytics, financial strategy, and people operations.

What you’ll do: 

  • Lead Payroll and Benefits forecasting—including annual budgets, Rolling Forecasts, and monthly proxied actuals—ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business priorities.
  • Manage and optimize workforce planning systems (including Workday Adaptive), maintaining real-time accuracy of staffing assumptions, position requests, vacancy rates, and merit cycles.
  • Analyze and reconcile staff cost variances by partnering with Compensation, Organizational Effectiveness, Benefits, and Retirement teams; provide insights that drive organizational and financial decisions.
  • Develop and deliver monthly staff cost reporting to senior leadership, including CODI-level visibility, highlighting trends and strategic workforce implications.
  • Build quarterly rolling budget estimates and develop scenario-based forecasts to support strategic cost management and workforce investment planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial planning tools, reporting processes, and cost-related controls to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance and precision in staff cost provisions submitted to accounting teams.

Required qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in budgeting, financial planning, or workforce cost management.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and workforce cost analysis (Excel, financial forecasting tools, and Workday Adaptive preferred).
  • Previous experience in payroll management systems such as Kronos or Workday.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Experience managing or influencing workforce planning processes, including FTE modeling, cost drivers, and organizational shifts.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Finance and People & Experience stakeholders.
