At Bardel, our people are at the heart of every production. The People Ops Coordinator plays a key role in supporting our artists and production teams by helping manage crew capacity, fostering a positive day-to-day experience, and ensuring smooth people-related processes. This role bridges Production and HR, supporting both operational needs and the overall support of our teams.
Term: Feb 2026 - Feb 2027 (subject to extension)
What You’ll Do:
- Assess upcoming resource needs by reviewing department demand against current crew capacity, identifying gaps, and flagging when hiring requisitions may be required with recruitment.
- Participate in weekly retention and resource meetings, bringing forward challenges, insights, and recommendations to support show and departmental needs.
- Communicate regularly with Production and Artist teams to gather information, review resourcing opportunities to promote support artist retention.
- Support Production teams in the HR management of artists, including tracking compliance, responding to queries, monitoring performance, overseeing time-logging accuracy, coordinating annual reviews, identifying next-show opportunities, and managing contract extensions.
- Manage the crew onboarding/offboarding process, ensuring survey feedback is completed, documented, and shared with relevant stakeholders.
- Anticipate and mitigate people-related issues where possible, escalating concerns to People Ops in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular People Ops auditing including contract details, time off balances, and other employment information to ensure HRIS (Rippling) is accurate and up to date.
- Support the People Ops Lead in employee engagement initiatives and champion the studio’s People & Culture values.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring:
- Previous experience in HR coordination, resource coordination, production coordination, or a similar role—ideally within animation, VFX, games, or another creative production environment.
- A solid understanding of resource planning, crew capacity management, and the employee lifecycle within a production setting.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Production, HR, and Leadership teams.
- A high degree of professionalism, discretion, and good judgment when handling sensitive information or crew-related matters.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate tracking, and meet production timelines.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, tracking tools, and production/HR systems (e.g., ShotGrid, Rippling, ATS tools, or internal platforms).
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on supporting a positive crew experience and enabling smooth day-to-day operations.
Benefits
Pay Range: CAD $60,000 - $75,000 annual

Your final salary offer will consider various key factors, including your education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographical location, as well as the needs and requirements of the business.
