KUBRA is in growth mode and seeking a talented Platform Engineer to join our DevOps team!
The Platform Engineer is responsible for providing self-service tools, building a KUBRA Internal
Developer Platform (IDP) and streamlining processes that allow KUBRA’s development teams to reduce lead time and enhance software release capabilities.
This is a hybrid position based out of our office in Mississauga, Ontario.

- Design, implement, and maintain controlled multi-account AWS environments that promote developer self-service and productivity.
- Provide robust Kubernetes solutions on AWS EKS to support microservice architecture, allowing for scalable and stable application deployment.
- Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform for reliable and repeatable infrastructure provisioning.
- Develop custom software implementations and/or solutions as needed to provide a cohesive developer platform experience.
- Automate and streamline deployment and delivery processes using CircleCI and ArgoCD.
- Implement secure and efficient AWS and Kubernetes networking architectures essential for a scalable and reliable platform.
- Contribute to network security and policies with tools, such as Network Policy and AWS Network Firewall, to ensure compliance with the latest security standards.
- Collaborate with development teams to identify opportunities and ensure feedback is collected and applied to optimize infrastructure against security, resiliency, and cost targets.
- Document processes and maintain records relating to infrastructure procedures and strategies.
What kind of person should you be?
- In-depth understanding of containerization, microservice architecture, and related technologies.
- Knowledge of service mesh architectures
- Strong communication skills and ability to facilitate effective technical problem-solving.
- Excellent troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills including the ability to articulate complex technical issues to a range of audiences.
- A collaborative spirit, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organization skills, detail-oriented mindset, and a commitment to quality.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities and tasks.
What skills do you need?
- MUST HAVES:
- 4-5 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or relevant experience from related fields: Software, Cloud, Network or Security Engineering.
- Experience with a systems programming language, such as Go or Python (Strong preference for Go).
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience creating and maintaining diagrams for process flows, data flows and architecture.
- Experience with monitoring and logging in cloud environments, using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry, CloudWatch, etc.
- NICE TO HAVES:
- Some experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code principles.
- Demonstrated proficiency in AWS environments, particularly with networking architecture
- Experience building cloud native solutions and infrastructure for a highly compliant environment such as SOC2 Type 2 or PCI-DSS.
- Experience with CI/CD automation tools such as CircleCI and ArgoCD and Jenkins.
