We are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Designer to support the development of high-performance AC/DC power conversion solutions for telecommunications applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in power supply design, power integrity, simulation, verification, and product development, with the ability to take designs from concept through validation and production. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary product development teams.
What you'll do
- Design and develop AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion solutions for telecommunications and other high-reliability electronic products.
- Translate system and customer requirements into power architecture concepts, detailed schematics, and implementation plans.
- Perform power supply analysis and simulation activities, including efficiency, thermal, stability, power integrity, worst-case, and reliability assessments.
- Support PCB layout activities by defining design constraints, reviewing component placement, and ensuring optimal power delivery network performance.
- Select, evaluate, and qualify power components, regulators, magnetics, and supporting circuitry to meet product requirements.
- Verify and validate designs through laboratory testing, prototype evaluation, debugging, and performance characterization.
- Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, manufacturing, and supply chain teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Prepare technical documentation, design reports, verification plans, and test results while supporting design reviews and continuous product improvement activities.
What you'll need to get the job done
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience designing power electronics and power conversion systems for commercial, industrial, or telecommunications products.
- Strong experience designing AC/DC and DC/DC converters, including switching power supplies and multi-phase power architectures.
- Proficiency with schematic capture tools, circuit simulation tools, and PCB design processes.
- Experience addressing thermal performance, EMI/EMC, noise mitigation, power integrity, and system grounding considerations.
- Strong laboratory debugging and validation experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power analyzers, and other electronic test equipment.
What will make us REALLY love you
- Experience developing telecom power systems operating from 200–240 VAC input power sources.
- Familiarity with power integrity analysis, PDN simulation tools, and advanced power system modeling techniques
- Experience bringing power electronics products through the full development lifecycle from concept through production release.
- Strong technical leadership, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
